He was interviewed on Seattle sports radio this morning and said he'd miss the next road trip because he has a health concern. In a slightly kidding, but maybe slightly serious way, he said he hoped the interview wouldn't be his last. He didn't seem to give any details, but I caught the interview half way through.
Possible HIPPA violation for any Blazers employee to spill the beans on Wheelers health issue. Being the Soccer Mom's we are though, we'd all like to know what's up. Maybe he'll share. Either way, I think I can speak for most of us and say we wish you well, Wheels!
If Brian wanted us to know, Brian would let us know. Until then, we can speculate that he's obviously being deported to Canada.
Sources say that he and the HCP are still trying to get out of the chair they were going for at the annual Blazers musical chairs game.
Interesting that it came up on Seattle radio and not local news; although, I know that Wheeler is buddies with Mitch in the morning, the Seattle talk radio guy. Pretty sure that Seattle show is actually simulcast in PDX on 620 fox sports radio.
Didn't they have Quick do radio when 'Tone was sick last year? It would be awesome if Shonz filled in for Wheels. He may not be on top of his game but it would be so much fun.
That's interesting to hear, considering when he was doing the post game interview with Stotts they were talking about how the team flight left at 8:45 and they'd "see them there". Sounded like nothing was out of the ordinary. Hope all is well, Wheels!
"In Wheeler’s absence, the Trail Blazers will temporarily simulcast audio from its television broadcast tandem of Mike Barrett and Mike Rice, with radio analyst Antonio Harvey added as a third on-air voice." Tone and the Wild one on a live broadcast should be entertaining! They do a good job on Courtside.
Woof. That'll be pretty interesting... and by interesting I mean "barely better than Eddie Doucette".
So I tried to talk my boss in to letting me call the game with 'Tone and to my surprise, he wasn't really feel in' it. #TheirLoss
