Hockey’s Future has ranked the Rangers 27th overall in their rankings of NHL farm systems.

They say that the Rangers strengths are having various prospects who look to be able to fill different roles at the NHL level.

They say that the Rangers lack depth at each position, the defense is in need of a puck mover and there is no prospect who has shown the potential to be a starting goalie.

HF does say that prospects Anthony Duclair and Pavel Buchnevich are high-potential prospects but at this point they are projects

Not saying I buy this, but I wonder why they have us rated so low? Seems a little odd to me.

They have good depth, but no 1st line prospects or impact offensive dmen. Skjei and Andersson should be solid pros, but I'm still not sold on McIlrath. Guys like Kristo, Nieves, Buchnevich, Duclair have pretty good offensive potential but aren't stars in the making most likely. I'd think they'd be in the16-20 range just based on the overall quality but I guess with no real all-star type they penalized them. They desperately need a puck mover in the system, which is why they should deal with someone like Colorado(Elliott, Barrie)Phoenix(Rundblad)or maybe Winnipeg(Morrisey). Teams with an excess of offensive dmen who you might be able to add into the system. I really like Elliot's game, I think he'll be better than DZ, er Del "Dopo". :)
I'm not including CK or Miller who I don't really consider prospects since they've been up now. Kreider certainly has top line ability. They mention no goalie in the system, could Talbot shock everyone and become an NHL starter and fetch a good return?

Not that HF ratings matter, but I think it's because alot of teams top 5-6 prospects are higher end, though the Rangers probably have better depth than most.

I don't see why this thread would be deleted.

    Carry on.

I take nothing HF says seriously. They hate the Rangers and always have. They basically ignored McDonagh, Girardi, Callahan, Dubinsky, Del Zotto, Stepan, Hagelin, Lundqvist, Anisimov, Miller, ect.. the entire time. Like some of those guys or not, they are all in the NHL getting a ton of ice time other than Miller who is in the NHL at 20.

I'm surprised they're that low, with the overall depth even w/o any major starts on the horizon. I'd figure maybe 20-24 range.

Pretty much. It's funny to see stupidity. I'm easily amused by the dumb trade offers on HF. It's mind boggling. One moron Rangers fan had us giving up MDZ, Stepan and Staal for E. Kane. LMAO!

They have good depth, but they never get that one great player who can QB ( I hate saying QB) and make the other players on the ice that much better. You don't get the high draft picks when you constantly make the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed. You get that one player, and everybody on the ice with him will be scoring more goals.

Avery could have been that player (or close to it), but it more was important for him to act like a total azz clown ... what a waste of a career.

Avery never had that ability. He was a role player. Nash has that ability. When he joined the team, Stepan was above a PPG after a slow start even with Torts dumb system.

Avery maybe? However I won't dispute it, because what's the point? But you can't deny that he did have skills that he let go to waste, as he preferred to turn the game into his own private circus.

As for Nash, he has trouble creating for himself and needs a more complete team around him in order for him to be more successful. Now granted I am basing my opinion on last years team, with Tort's as the coach. Who knows how he will perform once he makes it out on the ice with this team. I hope he proves me wrong.

Nash has no trouble creating for himself. Gimme a break. The guy took over about 12 third periods by himself last year. Against the Kings this year, he won the game by himself. He completely dominated the Kings.

Yep. Nash is like the only player on this team who can create on his own

You may not....but dont tread on what others want to say. We dont censor any site.

Mods opinion should never be absolute. I agree with Denny this thread should have never been closed.

Dumpy we talked via pm before I found out about this thread.

As I said in the pm...you would not want another mod to do you this way.

Is this remnants from ESPN atmosphere? You may not like the trade offers, but you should never censor someone else for posting them.

As for moron Ranger fans. it is ok to have that idea or thought, it is another thing to call them morons on a public board. How can you edit anyone in good faith ever again if they see you calling some other Ranger fans morons? Think about it. You can't edit anyone honestly because you do the same thing.

We are all used to dump calling us morons. I am a bit surprised that this talk about what should be edited/deleted and what shouldn't. ..isn't there a mod forum to discuss? Usually outsiders never hear mod talks.
