Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/424...y_didnt_return/Damn you Pat Riley!LBJ should take a leaf out of shaq's book. Don't play for money, Bron.
Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? sh*t, that's weird that something like that could determine if a player stays in the league or not.do you guys think it would've been smart for shaq to retire? end on a good note?
Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? I think not. He's actually getting into decent shape. He's countering the age by slimming down and being in shape. I say he goes for a couple more years, then calls it quits.
Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? Don't believe it. Shaq says all kinds of stuff about how much he loves his coaches when he's happy with them. He once said he'd never play for any coach other than Phil Jackson.

That's just the way he is. It's the same when he's in a situation he hates. He loves letting everyone know how he feels, he loves being the center of attention.

And Shaq still had enough in him to win a few championships somewhere else, which is probably why he didn't retire right there...
Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? I really don't believe a word that comes out of Shaq's mouth.
Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? kome and Shaq both are players that have to be the center of attention. That's why it didn't work.

It's like all the times he would compliment Kobe on his game and being such a great guy then the next week he'd be saying the opposite.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Something-To-Say @ Oct 1 2006, 03:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>wtf? Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? It's amazing how quickly this thread turned into a Shaq & Kobe discussion. But I don't believe Shaq would have retired. I remember about an hour after they won the championship this year, he was talking with Stephen A. Smith and Smith asked him how much longer. Shaq said 4 years, and he guarenteed a championship this year too.

All because dogma hates me.
Re: Shaq would've retired had Riley not return? About Shaq, I doubt that he would have retired. He still has a couple of seasons left in him. He might end up playing out his contract and then retiring after that.
