Portland is a weird place, you have liberal white people stricken with white guilt, and minorities calling them out on it, lol.
Watched it, didn't feel guilty. It made me angry. I was asking myself why the white woman would just sit back and watch this happen and then the one in the movie was a bigger monster than the men. It really was fascinating sitting there wondering what I would do in his place, I just can't ever really know. I guess the desire to live outweighs everything, even freedom.
Good performances outshine the uninspired storyline. That was the story for most of 2013 "best" movies. Still, Woody is always fun and anything that deals with America hillybilly culture is always fascinating to watch.
I'm still working on my screenplay. It's about a black retarded Jew during the holocaust. Think I'll win any awards?
I thought it was a good movie but I didn't think the actress in it was oscar spectacular. The guy who impressed me most was the insane sadistic slave owner...he'll probably be in the next Tarantino flick.
I watched it, as well as most of the other best picture nominations, and i believe it was probably the best movie up for that award. Wolf of Wall Street was close, but American Hustle sucked some ass, overall a weak year. Oh yeah, this movie also has some indians raindancing around a fire for some reason, so there's that.
Wolf of Wallstreet was soooooooooooooooooooooo long. Like stupid long. They spent way too much time on establishing that the guy was a douche. Silver lining, there was a ton of tits.
The writers agenda was white hate and black sorrow. He didn't know shit abut Indians, all he could remember was a scene out of an old Gary Cooper movie.
