Wilt's words were mostly defensive because people back then didn't like him.And yeah, MJ did his talking on the court, where it belongs. Guys like Rick Fox, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher, Ron Harper, those guys were some of the best role players ever. They knew there place, they made hustle plays, they made the big shots, and they kept the team together while the superstars (Kobe and Shaq) were splitting it apart. Without those guys, I doubt the Lakers would've had the success they had. In 2000 and 2002, the difference between winning the championship and losing in the WCF was extremely close, and without some of the guys Shaq isn't giving credit to I doubt it would've worked out the way it did.

I didn't see rick fox or Derek fisher give shaq some support. Rick fox and derek fisher have both been on the sideline supporting the lakers.But with shaq? All I've heard is Derek fisher saying Shaq was babied by the lakers.
