Obviously, this is inspired by S2S's thread, but who are guys that have had their popularity skyrocket over the past few years?A won't list a whole lot, I'll leave some to you guys, but a couple that come to mind are:- Chauncey Billups (obviously it's because he's really improved, but people labeled him as a flat out bust until about 3-4 years ago).- Obviously Big Ben is one. He went undrafted, then he proved everyone wrong. You know all the accomplishments...- Elton Brand - I never understood why he was never recognized very much, and I always considered him as a top 15 player in the league, but up until really last year (maybe the year before) nobody really said anything about him. They do now.

How about Steve Nash? Yeah, he was good 5 years ago as a pg in Dallas, but he certainly wasnt mentioned as THE BEST pg in the League at that time. Now he is. He is a household name now, he's doing his thing in Phoenix, and he took home 2 straight MVP awards.

Nash/Arenas are definitely big ones. But I just thought of another one too: Ricky Davis. 2-3 years ago he was labeled as nothing but a cancer, but now people are starting to appreciate him since he's matured, and he's getting noticed as one of the better scorers in the league on the wing.

Andrei Kirilenko!actually nevermind lol he's only been playing five years..but I guess you could say his popularity has risen in the past five years..because nobody really expected him to do anything but he's obviously proven he's capable of a lot of things

Dirk has gone from a part of the big three to becoming the man for the Mavs. I could go more in depth, but y'all know.

5 years is a pretty long time, I'm pretty sure arenas was a rookie then. so he had like zero status. Paul Pierce has in MY book. He's matured greatly recently and is realyl a ture leader now. I'm proud of him and what he has done.

Gilbert Arenas....when he played for us was unrecognized.and definetly Elton Brand.this proves one thing, that there are excellent players out there who go by unrecognized because their team dosent get any attnetion

Steve Nash for sure... winning 2 MVP's from where he was before is a big deal. Now Canada has something to brag for, even if he didnt deserve his 2nd one

True, he was undrafted to becoming a starting pg and will probably get more and more popular as time goes on

Rip Hamilton, 5 years ago he was playing with MJ and did not look like he was star quality. Since he has become one of the most vital parts on this era's Piston dynasty.
