So MM, if I understand your position correctly, you think the Blazers are the 2nd best team in the league based on their record and that is why they really should beat any team at home and at least get a 7-3 record with that 10 game schedule. I do like your new found faith in the Blazer team although I think you have shifted too far over and are now over rating them. They aren't as good as you think they are . . . but they are close.
Allow me to go reverse MM on this: 1.) Milwaukee on the road (Last game of a road trip, already complacent from 3 wins. Trap game--loss) 2.) Chicago at home (First game back after EC roadie, plus Chicago's super-hot. Loss) 3.) golden state on the road (b2b) (We NEVER win there, not changing now. Loss) 4.) New York at home (NBA needs NY to be respectable. Playing 8 on 5 here. Loss) 5.) Phoenix on the road (Already lost here once, and barely scraped by them at home. Loss) 6.) Lakers on the road (League won't let Kobe lose in his return. Loss) 7.) Indiana at home (b2b) (Best team in the league. We have no chance.) 8.) OKC at home (Best team in the conference [record notwithstanding]. No chance.) 9.) Utah at home (No excuse for not winning this game) 10.) Dallas at home (b2b) (Probably ought to win this one too) I wouldn't be surprised if we go 2-8 in this stretch. I'll be thrilled if we're lucky enough to go 5-5.
I think the Blazers are one of the best teams in the league RIGHT NOW. I never said they should beat certain teams at home, I questioned why some thought they wouldn't or would have trouble beating certain teams at home RIGHT NOW.
That seems like a fine lien there Mr. Man . . . but I am glad you are on a different track with the Blazers and no longer think they are stuck in mediocrity.
I think they are stuck in mediocrity. I think by the end of the season they will probably be around the 7-8 seed. RIGHT NOW though, they are playing great basketball and their 3 pt shot is going in at a very high %
You're wrong. They're just an average team that has been fortunate to take advantage of an easy schedule (and were lucky to beat the Spurs and Suns). They're likely going to lose most of these. I don't understand why you would think they can compete with contenders.
Rose won't dominate Lillard. Rose has not looked good so far this season. I'm more concerned about their other guys.
Didn't we destroy this same Indiana team at home last year by 20? Our squad's even better now. I'll be very disappointed if we don't handle business against the Pacers at home.
If it makes you feel better, guys, I've seen the Blazers play in Milwaukee before and Aldridge hit the game winning shot. I'm not into all this next ten games talk. The only game I care about right now is the one I'm taking a 23 hour train to courtesy of magnifier. Both he and I called top 3 seed at the top of the season and I'm sticking to that.
Well Sting must feel really awkward now; sending out a strength of schedule to the world is kind of pointless.
