If there's one thing Ben Gordon learned the last time he entered free agency and left the Bulls for the Pistons, it's to never say never. That's why, if by some minuscule chance, the Bulls come calling next summer, looking for scoring punch off the bench, he'd listen. "I had a lot of success here, had a great time here," Gordon said. "I'm not in position to rule anybody out." Read more http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...ulls-bobcats-chicago-20131119,0,5978306.story
BG makes a lot of sense as a FA target. Given his struggles recently he can't possibly demand a large price tag, and I still think he's more talented than his current playing time suggest. And as a scoring punch off the bench he'd fit like a tee. If he's okay coming back and doesn't mind reduced minutes I'd welcome him back.
I think he's either worn out his welcome in Charlotte or he's got serious injury issues. The games I've seen him in since leaving the Bulls, he's had a leg heavily bandaged, or limped due to some other nagging injury. Apparently his knee is bad enough to have kept him out of preseason and games this season. As late as last season, his playing time dwindled to just 20/game, but he's never failed to score less than double digits.
He was an undersized off guard who sometimes found a way to score in bunches when he was with us. Now he is a gimpy undersized off guard who finds a way to score. Double digit scoring is impressive and if he wants to go back to being a spark plug sharpshooter off the bench..ok. But if he is looking for starter money and starter time I would tell him where to put the big foam finger.
