Noah 1,000 times over. He knows how to win. Also, I could see Noah fine with coming off the bench as well. Asik eating boatloads of bitch cereal about playing time is a huge concern.
Yep, Noah has the best big man motor in the game. He strikes me as a team player. Wants to win period. Does all the dirty work. Runs the floor. Wookie would just have to get over it.
Maybe Chicago can get into this Asik wanting out of Houston? Boozer is actually a perfect PF for them.
Let me go a little further. Chicago not wanting Asik back, but would come in this deal to obtain picks and or players by giving up boozer to a third team
Attitude, it is known. Wanting to play should not have a negative affect on the team for which you play for. In Asik's case, it has, on more than one team.
I don't want them touching our starters unless we are getting a Legit All Star from last year back, and even then I'm picky. Anyone else on this team, I'd be sad to see go, but happy to trade if it's getting a very nice piece back.
we don't have cap space to give them. we don't have draft picks to give them. we don't have a 4 that's near good enough to be the centerpiece of a deal (it's against league rules to trade Robinson to them). we don't want to give up Lopez and they don't want him anyway. Our draft pick is injured. Wes is playing like an all-star we ain't giving up Batum. In summary, the only way we make a trade for Asik is if there is a 3rd team involved and if Olshey is superhuman.
Actually, I think Leonard is a "stretch 4". He's a tall guy that can shoot. I doubt he has much value now though. Not sure what kind of pic we could trade them since we still owe Charlotte a 1st. Trading Lopez for him seems like a lateral move. But if we could keep Lopez, it would be great to have those two playing center for us. Like the days when we had Pryzbilla and Ratliff.
Point 1. It's highly likely that we only bring in Asik if we keep Lopez. Point 2. It's been discussed here many times by myself and other about 3rd team scenarios to get HOU a stretch 4 and sending out McCollum/Leonard or some combo of Freeland/Barton/Claver. Two possible teams are Philly and the Bucks.
Leonard/Claver/Barton could do it though. Claver and Leonard could be a stretch 4. Barton is a consolation to help their back court
It won't really matter. Asik can start if he really wants to, you can split the time between the two centers.
Got to ride this out starting five for at least the first third of the season. But come trade deadline, if Asik for Lopez and Leonard is available, I think Olshey will give that some serious consideration and possibly makes that move.
