I can't say it was a bad desicion because I have never tried it yet. Well if all these NBA players don't like it, then I will have to try it myself then to see. Hopefully the players will make the adjustments and like the ball in the future.
Everyone was saying it was great on NBA.com right after it was released, looks like it's another of Stern's disasters.
Well David Stern didn't design it. You can't say it was a bad idea yet. We have to wait for the start of the season.
Sam Cassell sums it up the best. When asked if he likes the new ball:"It's round..."Sam dribbles it a few times.."It bounces..""I love that mother----er!!!"

I said from what I read that is isnt all that great, not expressing an actual opinion (maybe except for the Stern part)
If everyone didn't like it, why was the topic never mentioned in the ASG? Seriously, I never heard a single quote about it at all. Not from Shaq, not from anybody. Shaq said the shooting percentages would be "way, way down". Were they really that way down in the ASG? They're just being hypocritical.
As soon as the season starts, if at least one person, such as Allen Iverson, doesn't average 30 ppg and even Steve Nash gets 10 boards, then the NBA is dying due to the ball.
I sure hope Nash doesn't grab 10 boards a game... that would be too insane, I think you mean assists?

According to the players complaining, the ball sucks so much that basically everyone will miss more than they usually do. So, players who hardly get rebounds most of the time, such as Nash, will be able to prop themselves up to receive a couple of boards a night. It's not rocket science.</span>
Well sure he will probably get more than usual... and no doubt he will grab 10 here and there. But no way will he average 10 per game. Last year he grabbed like 4 or so and yes, his rebounding has incresed over the years, but 10 is wayyyyy too much for him. He's a short pg who plays defence on the perimiter. He leaves it to the big men to rebound so even if the ball causes those problems he won't be the one averaging 5-6 more rebounds, it'll be the other guys.EDIT: I looked it up and his CAREER HIGH is 13...

You honestly couldn't pick up on my sarcasm, right? I was only joking (a bad joke at that) about Nash getting 10 boards a night. It was just me overexaggerating the ball's putridity.</span>

A true player would adjust his/herself and get even better with the new ball. Which I see LBJ and Kobe doing.
Add TJ Ford to the list:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Globe And Mail - Another day and another complaint about the NBA's new basketball; this time from Toronto's T.J. Ford."I don't think you'll see too many long bounce passes," said Ford. "Once the ball hits the floor it kind of sticks."It feel like an outdoor ball," he said. "When it gets wet it's hard to handle."The long bounce pass will not be able to be used by Ford any longer. "I can't do it," he said. "The new ball doesn't slide like the leather ball. I tried one in the [intrasquad] game and I got a turnover."</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/426...ticks_to_floor/
