4 Blazers starters averaging 34.3, 35.8, 36.9, and 37.4. I didn't do an exhaustive query, but the teams I looked at, like Indy, Miami, OKC, LAC, and SAS do not rely on their starters (4 of them) as much.

The guys on NBA TV mentioned it.

    Sprint. Marathon?

That's absolutely correct sir. Don't get me wrong. The downs were the fucking pits, but these ups are worth more than all the downs combined to me.

I look back at my blazer fandom and only remember the miracle minute, 13 game win streak, Roy's miracle 4th, two finals appearances and countless other great feats. The bad years I hardly remember...

Oden's injury took me out of action for a week. Game 7 2000 WCF has fucked me up for life.

Sorry Chris, but if you want guarantees before you go all in with your excitement, maybe the Globe Trotters are more your cup of tea. They always win and the audience always has a good time. Sports always involve chance and, frankly, only one team out of thirty in the NBA has fans celebrating at the end of the year. Unless you can just enjoy the ride you're pretty certain to be disappointed.

Exactly. The last time I enjoyed the Blazers this much was the 13 game win streak and we didn't even make the playoffs that season. But it was still very enjoyable to me. Another time was the Steve Kerr Blazers who could light I up when they wanted to. The Laker game where people threw the Bill Walton dolls on the court was hilarious and very entertaining. Didn't win a playoff series that year but it was fun. The last time we won a playoff series was 2000 and for most BlaZer fans they consider that the most painful time as a fan. Enjoy the good times while they last guys. Maybe we'll win the title, maybe they won't. Are you waiting for them to clinch the title before you decide to care? Enjoy this streak and all the fun that comes with it. As for minutes, we're playing to win games. If we can start blowing teams out, we can get rest that way.

It's down from last year, IIRC, but it would be nice if the starters could play a few less minutes. Getting CJ back may help. Hopefully, Robinson will get better as the year goes on.

By the way chris, you're one of my favorite posters. My favorite moment in sports in the last ten years was watching Dallas finish off the Lakers in a four game sweep. You wrote a fabulous post after it saying how great it was. I'll never forget how entertained I was.

Yes, he was a harsh reality.

But he has left a spot in our hearts and minds just for Meyers...The kid needs to come to grips and fill it.

Fans showing results of the coddle generation. Afraid to have fun because losing is taboo. Grow a pair there is always a winner and a loser, blazers don't need your 29th place trophies.

OKC- Durant is averaging 39.4 min; Westbrook 33.1; Ibaka 32.2

    Indy-George 36.4; Stephenson 35.1; Hill 32.2

    LAC- Griffin 37.3; Paul 36.1; Jordan 35.4

Did NBA TV mention that? Sprint or Marathon? I think the coaches are trying to win each game.

Notice you mention 3 players one each team while blazers have 4. Clearly they are at a disadvantage for having 4 high caliber players to ride instead of 3.

If you can't handle the let downs then just be a laker/yankees/patriots fan, you're almost guaranteed to buy rings every decade.

Exactly! Great point. Very few teams win an actual title. Especially in NBA basketball. If you don't enjoy wins, good steaks, clutch playoff performances, the possibility of advancing further at the end of the year; well better off to follow a different sport. I look back very fondly on the Drexler years it was a great team and even though we never won a title I'm super happy to have rooted for a team that won so much and had so many long postseason runs. Those were unique teams that we will never see again.

I think some fans greatly overrate titles. So once you've finally won it you celebrate for a couple days and then what.... thats it. All over, nothing more to follow no more games, no more speculation on strategies, no more news. But all the events leading up to a title are months and months of anticipation, cheering, planning, bottled up excitement ready to explode. The journey to a title is all of the fun because there is doubt, there's struggles, there's a chance everything could be lost. But once its actually won its all history.

It's the "We're All Winners!" Oprah effect. Pussified generation needing validation for anything and everything. Too much whining and talking about feelings. Man up and face the pain of true fandom.

Stiff upper lip and Go Blazers!

Btw, if you could erase the pain of the memory of 2000 WCF...would you? I even value that pain because the high of finally seeing the team win it all will be that much sweeter.
