Is everyone truly appreciating what we did on Saturday night?

Yes, Iggy was out. BUT, we lost Wes Matthews and Mo Williams down 8 in the third quarter. We were in Golden State where we hardly ever win. We were on the second game of a back to back,coming off a game in which we had to expend a lot of energy to come back from 21 down. And then we DOMINATED the game, outscoring the Warriors by 20 the rest of the way. How fucking incredible is that? And then I hear people who have every right to their opinion say that we'll only win 45-46 games at best this season. I don't get it. People say our schedule has been easy, but most of our games have been on the road, we've had FOUR back to back sets (all of which we've won), and we won in Denver (who is on the rise) and the aforementioned Golde State. And oh yeah, we beat the only team ahead of us in the west standings.

I think the playoffs will be tough (for every team) because it's a very deep conference and short of Mo (who is important for this reason), we don't have a lot of experience. But to write off how we are playing now because we might not win the championship is silly to me. We are playing the best basketball this team has played in years. I beg of you. Please enjoy it. This doesn't happen very often.

It doesn't mean anything if the Blazers don't keep beating teams they are suppose to beat, protect home court, and give themselves a chance to win on the tough road games. Portland has a lot to prove, and I am cheering my happy ass off they keep moving that direction.

 

What sucks for me is that I'm out of my house right now (a car hit it, but that's another story) and in a rental, so I can't use my NBALP. I'm missing all these games!

Perhaps I'm the anti-KingSpeed? Just like we generally lose when he attends, perhaps we win when I don't watch?

This is the most mentally tough Blazers team I've seen. 9 out of 10 times a scuffle like that totally derails the visiting team, especially when our only real hot hand (Matthews) gets kicked out.

But they just keep coming at you. Portland will lose when they get beaten, but they don't beat themselves. Lillard, Batum, Wes, LMA and Lopez all know who they are and what they want to do, and it's up to the other team to figure it out.

Team very much reminds me of a typical Spurs squad, or those great Ben Wallace Pistons teams, just in terms of demeanor and cohesion.

Right now, this is as much fun as I have had watching the Blazers in years. Fact of the matter is that perhaps it is even more enjoyable than the Clyde, Porter teams because I appreciate it more.

 

I am definitely enjoying this. I don't have high expectations still, but I believe the team has opened new doors and has given themselves more options for a post season. I would still say, even if they continued to play like this all the way through the season, they'd still be at a disadvantage going into the playoffs, due to lack of winning experience in the playoffs for their best players, coach is still relatively inexperienced with playoffs (as a head coach). Planning and preparation are what sets teams apart in the playoffs, and you can see teams like the Spurs and Heat are very skilled in that area.

So I will enjoy the highly improbable run, and hope for the best. If nothing else, it can only mean good things for the team, and the city of Portland. The fans and the players needed this, and it could be a good stepping stone season.

 

I think it was the most impressive win of the young season. Not necessarily the most well-played game of the season - that goes to the SAS win. Beating the Warriors - IN Oakland, no less - was impressive in its own right. The way we did it made it even more impressive.

 

The O has been a house of horrors for us, even worse than the Pepsi Center. When I saw us that far down I figured we would pack it in. Simply a terrific win.

 

There is no such thing as a "bad" win. There is such a thing as a good win - and this qualifies.

 

This makes Osley's trades all the more important. We have quality NBA vets on that bench now and not some wannabees.

Agreed. No matter what seed we get, the playoffs will be extremely difficult for all of the teams because it's a very deep conference. The Timberwolves are 10th in the West right now. Gonna be a lot of unhappy teams in April. That's why this 12-2 head start is so important for this team.

 

If you have league pass you should be able to stream the games or get the NBA gametime app and watch them on a mobile device.

 

I laugh hearing the east coast bias of the NBA commentators talking about how stacked the East is. They only have 3 teams over .500, and the West has 10...

 

The west only has 2 teams under .500. The east has 9

 

Definitely appreciate it, pretty remarkable getting a win at Oracle under any circumstances.

I guess I would describe it as stunned happiness right now and utter amazement, like if someone lets you go first in a busy Xmas shopping line, or if a postal worker is nice to you.

 

Nearly all of the postal workers in my area are, at a minimum, nice if not downright pleasant.

 

The ones at my local office barely acknowledge your presence, very gruff.
