Former All-Star Dan Haren and the Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed on a one-year deal worth $10 million that gives the right-hander a chance to make $3 million more based on games started and innings pitched. If Haren pitches 180 innings next season, he will get a player option for 2015 for the same terms: a $10 million base salary with a chance to make $3 million more. Haren, 33, lives in nearby Orange County and had expressed a desire to pitch for a West Coast team after spending one season with the Washington Nationals and going 10-14 with a 4.67 ERA. That was the worst full-season ERA of his career, but he rebounded after a short stay on the disabled list with a 3.29 ERA and 84 strikeouts in his final 15 starts.
