This is what he said in an article:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"It's more free flowing and free going," Marbury said of Thomas' first practice. "You don't have somebody who couldn't handle the ball telling you, 'Don't do this, don't do that.'"</div>I guess Mabury forgot the fact that Brown was a 14 and 7 point guard back in the day, for the Washington Capitals.
thats not really taking a shot at brown. brown's an older man like 60 something. isiah's in his 40's I think. you're looking way too deep into his words.

That's just not true.</div>no he didn't. I'm pretty sure he's simply referring to his age. he's happy he's got a coach that is younger not and old bag like brown.
Whenever he said couldn't handle the ball, I'm almost positive Marbury did not mean literally basketball wise. He probably meant that Brown could not handle coaching of that Knicks team, kind of like he droppped the ball there in New York.

I have bashed Marbury for his comments in the past, but I don't think we should make anything from this quote. This wasn't a shot at Brown. He is right though, Isiah will allow his players to come out of their shell, Brown was too demanding for a team full of that many egos. When you have 3 or 4 guys that want it "their way or the highway," you are going to have problems. Isiah will let the offense flow freely.

They need a coach like Rick Carlisle who thinks defence first offence second. My prediction: If Isiah doesn't turn New York around this year, he's gone.

The Knicks owner is giving Isiah only one season to prove that the Knicks can be a good team or else he is fired. That's what I read in Athlon Sports Pro Basketball magazine.Isiah Thomas said an interesting quote:"The great thing about sports is that the guys on the bottom always have a chance to go to the top the next year. ... When I was a little kid growing up, all I had was hope and optimism. That's the only way I know how to think, that tomorrow's going to be better."

This team will never be great at defense, so to make up for it they need to play to this teams strengths. That is a free flowing offense, getting out in transition, and breaking down off the dribble. Isaih is going to let this happen, and will get much better results out of New York this year, I gurantee it.

Marbury wasn't really taking a shot at him but I'm sorry if I'm a Knicks fan I want this guy off my team. He's an asbolute clown, every team he's been on absolutely sucks, he procailmed himself "starbury", "starbury"???!!! Every team gets better when he leaves.
I know that's true and he knows that's true. I don't think he wants to run away from all that. as a professional he doesn't wanna be remembered as that guy who makes teams better by being traded away from them. this year is his year to change that. I want him to because I like marbury and I hate all the negative criticism he gets when he just doesn't know any better when he speaks to the media. he's actually one of the nice guys in sports. not many people know that.
Marbury's game reminds me of Billups. Except Billup's style helps his team win, Marbury's style helps pad stats. And Billups wasn't as good of an all around PG until Larry Brown came to Detroit. So I can't help but wonder what Stephon's problem is. Unwillingness to change is my guess. If he doesn't evolve from his current Steve Francis state to more of a Steve Nash one, he'll never reach his potential. His team would do much better if he took 4 less shots a game and averaged 16 and 8.
