OK, I realize we can't just sign anyone and everyone but when I look at this, Infante is really a bargain perhaps and gives us a productive 3B option and hedges 2B also. I know others have seen this move as a option, and I would hate to lose Cano, but he would be a bandaid either at second or third. His versatility would really be a welcomed addition on the current Yankee roster. So if we signed Infante, and Cano it would look like this. And now I'm thinking do the Yankees carry 3 catchers with one being Murphy who could be the emergency 3B/C pinch hit guy. That is why Wells clogging up a roster spot or Ichiro is a waste. Or instead of the 3rd catcher filler option, go with Mark Reynolds and or Jones who was recently released from Pittsburgh as Tex backup and bench depth.

    C McCann, Cervelli, *Murphy
    1B Tex *Jones, Reynolds*
    2B Cano
    SS Jeter Ryan
    3B Infante Nunez
OF Soriano, Gardner, Beltran, Ichiro, Wells

I know 59, I respect him but he has turned into the true definition of a "Judy Hitter" . As a 5th outfielder who could play some CF, RF and provide decent defense and the occasional 3 for 5 I agree. The pinch runner to steal a base, he reminds me so much of the aged Manny Alou we acquired. I loved Manny, he was fun to watch as a young player.

    ...yeah, and though
    i like him,
i was surprised they gave him 2 years...and depending n who else they sign, he'll pretty much be a late inning replacement/pinch runner/pinch hitter etc.

I would keep Reynolds. Part time 3B,1B, DH and emergency 2B with alot of power.
Has also shown to have better hands (glove) than expected.

I like Reynolds too. He is a perfect bench player who can fill a need with the all or nothing swing. Plus he is right handed and I feel we will need the balance.

Absolutely! Especially when the opposition is throwing the basic mediocre lefty out there.
He gets his 3-5 ABs ---
-- one hanging curveball or one fastball left over the plate and.....IT'S GONE. A four bagger.
