No edited version is much better. Leonard and CJ could be the difference. I'm totally fine with leaving things alone, but I would love our front court to have another player demanding a double. This "batum is too valuable" shit is making me laugh though for a career 20 per player that demands doubles, rebounds, shoots a dam good mid range, can post up and defends really well.
I have Horford at an 18.5 PER http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/horfoal01.html Nic at a 15.6 PER (both above league average) http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/batumni01.html Nic has a WS/48 of .125, with Horford having a .154. Block % are about the same (2.1 for Batum, 2.5 for Horford). Assist % are pretty much the same (12.7 for Batum, 12.1 for Horford). EFG% is pretty much the same as well, .538 for Horford, .540 for Batum. Horford obviously has more rebounds. TS% is about the same as well. What I'm notcing is that aside from Rebounds, it's a lot of the same production. It's just that they bring something different than stats can show us. Horford brings the double team, Batum spreads the floor and can pass extremely well (albeit a bit crazy at times). It's really what our offense is really needing at the time, and as much as I love Horford and want him on this team, I'd almost want to trade Matthews instead, if we had the option. Though, if I am to be completely honest, I'd just want it to stay pat and ride with what we have. This is the best team we have for this system, IMO.
If there was ever a way to get Horford without trading Batum I'd be sooooo for it. As someone posted above; Matthews, Leonard and CJ for Horford is damn good, IMO. I would hate to lose Matthews though. CJ isn't a big deal for me.
I'd rather send MAtthews than Batum. But not because one is far lesser than the other, it's just that one hurts only slightly less than others... like pulling hairs. lol.
The next question is, would the need of Robin be the same if you had Horford in your lineup as the starter? I know we all have fell in love with Robin but if we had Horford, Would the need for Robin be the same? And would Robins contributions be the same coming off the bench? I said I wouldn't break up the chemistry and move him for Asik. But I would prob part him in a deal for Horford. So...CJ, Matthews, Robin, picks and cash for Horford. Prob still not enough.
Mags I'd love this trade. People are way overvaluing Batum. Horford would make our defense better, he'd make our offense better, and he'd make us tougher.
...we DO NOT need Horford, absolutely NOT! This idea fails on so many levels. Batum is the super glue that holds this team together. Horford is a lesser version of LMA...not a true center...and not a player that brings anything "new" to the table. This might have worked perfectly for your fantasy team on NBA2k14, but not in real life.

Mags, I gotta say this is a foolish idea IMHO. And why you want to give up the farm for Horford I surely don't know but let's just say I disagree with the entirety of your post.
Bad idea for all the reasons listed, rotation fit, chemistry, duplicating abilities, etc... But probably the #1 reason is because there's no way in hell Atlanta does a trade based around Batum, Matthews or CJ for Horford. First of all, they value him to highly for that deal to make any sense to their front office. But more importantly, Atlanta will not be tanking this season or next because they have the rights to swap 1st rounders with Brooklyn both years. With the way ATL and BKN are playing the Hawks could remain a top 4 seed, make the 2nd round of the playoffs, and still get a top 5 pick in this years draft. That would allow them win a bit now and still build around a better core of Teague + Horford instead of Teague + Batum/Matthews/CJ, and the more they win and the further they advance the more they screw BKN with a worse pick to ensure they continue to suck, that way ATL can maybe steal another top 5 pick next year.
Horford is not a C. He just plays the position because he's forced to. And the idea to give up Batum when he does so much for us is pretty silly. If there really is someone we "absolutely need" to put us over the top, it's Horford's buddy from Floriday, Noah.
Deng is productive and an expiring contract, so I think the Bulls can get something for him. With Boozer being owed 15.3 and 16.8, I don't think they can find a team to take him. If Bulls are going to tank, they could find the most value by trading Noah . . . but they won't give him away and will want serious value (maybe potential value) in return.
I think Golden State would love to have Deng and Boozer.
