He conferred with a Pacers trainer and sought medical treatment at a hospital.The other Pacers at the scene were Jamaal Tinsley, Marquis Daniels and Jimmie Hunter.Tinsley and Daniels also had guns in their cars, and all three players had permits for the weapons, Mount said, although Daniels' permit was issued in Florida.The Pacers planned to release a statement about the incident later Friday. Even common folks carry guns in their households. I see no issue in this case as it seems to be out of self defense. If it was a Jayson Williams type incident, then I'd call them thugs.

They have permits for them, just for protection. The real problem is somebody is trying to hurt Stephon Jackson, he didnt just try to shoot at random people, they attacked him. Why would you attack a 6'8 NBA player who has 3 other big NBA players with him I dont know, but it was all protection.

Re: Four Pacers involved in shooting!! There's nothing legally wrong with having a gun. I think it's a problem when you are getting into fights at clubs, though. It says a lot about you when you need a gun for protection.

Re: Four Pacers involved in shooting!! It's not a matter of owning a gun, but rather bringing it to a club. When people get drunk, and you throw guns in the mix with tons of people around, it rarely turns out good.

Re: Four Pacers involved in shooting!! I see no problem with them a lot of nba players and well known people have guns or some kind of protection. They all have permits for their guns and the guns were in their cars, it's not like they carry around on them. And you hear about this all the time with NBA players, when are they going to understand sometimes you just need to stay your rich a** at home. Theres so many haters out there in the world these days and once they see a NBA player out somewhere having fun their jealous and want to start trouble. Last year I think it was Tony Allen and Julious Hodges and this year its these guys, so just go to places were you know theres some kind of security or stay in. And Jackson didn't aim it at no one when he fired his gone, he just shot it in the air for protection so I see nothing wrong with that. I think he handled this better than most people would have.

What is so bad about having protection. You can't expect all celebrities to walk around without protection or there would be people trying to kill them a lot more.
