    Let's take a look....

    Here is the latest iMac.
    http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/imac?product=ME089LL/A&step=config

    $2199

Comes with an Intel i7 CPU
    8 gigs of ram
    1TB of HD
Nvidia 775 with 2gigs of dedicated ram

I basically built this EXACT computer two years ago for about 1200 less. You can't tell me that's a better deal, AND it's old technology. I have all that same tech in my PC that I built TWO YEARS AGO. It's a joke.

So you think the OS is worth an extra 1200 bucks? People used Windows XP for a long time as well. Some Microsoft operating systems are solid, and will run for ten years, while some just fall flat like Vista or Windows 8. It is what it is. I just stick with the OS that I like until they come out with one that works better. The key is, I can buy Windows for a couple hundred bucks, and still only spend 800-1000 on a bitching computer that I can upgrade as I go over the next few years. Why spend 2k+ on something that's already approaching obsolesence?

And the benchmark tests vs. windows of the same "wannabe" set-up like you've proclaimed? You wanna call your go kart a Ferrari because you put in a twin turbo engine, Jap rocket suspension and sports car emblem.

I think you've got it backwards my friend. Ferrari's are fast but expensive to fix. Mac's are your steady old sedan. You're driving the Camry buddy. Hate to break it to ya :devilwink:

Here's my contention, I get that Apple's are reliable, and some people just like their interface more, but it's pretty ridiculous when you claim that they're better than the competition. I built that computer two years ago, and Apple is selling it for over 2k now? That's not good value.

This is cute… There used to be a day when Mac users would have this argument with PC users. Funny how things flipped. Tell you what… How about you move this to the "off-topic" section and I will be happy to debate you.

No point in debating it. You've got your opinion, I've got mine, and I don't think there's anything I can say that will change your mind. It is what it is.

Hard to derail something that was already derailed.

I was responding to people though. wouldn't they be the ones that derailed?

You weren't responding to anyone. That first post was out of the blue, and quoted nobody. That's your M.O. these days. You come into a thread and play the victim. It's soooooo tired man. Just have your opinions and stick by them.

Actually it is getting old too. I'm waiting for the new Mac Pro. I've been waiting all year for it!
