I dont - I appreciate what he did here - At the same time I have ZERO regrets about firing him. It was absolutely time for him to leave this franchise.

Yup twice. Playing in a system that was more suited for the team at those times. Last year the team got alot less gritty and alot more skilled yet Torts wouldnt change a thing. He didn't have any Dubinskys or Fedotenkos or Prusts to win those battles anymore yet Torts wanted them to still play like that. And that reflected on everybody's production.

I will say I agree with you on that...only to the point that the players were tuning him out thinking something better will come along...
Just like Iron Mike, that type of Coach has a shell life and Torts was up..not because he is terrible..but because players tune out

You put almost any goalie there besides Luongo and I have no doubt he gets one.

With the right roster he can be successful IN THE SHORT TERM. BTW, I dont think Vancouver has that roster but time will tell.

Hey I hope he does well. I love dogs and so does Torts. He was also hilarious in his pressers. But the dude is a DINOSAUR who refuses to adjust and that is not a good trait in todays NHL

Agreed, but whatever the reason may be, those teams should have at least 1 Cup.

again ill say this for the 1994th time...
I am not putting it all on the coach...its on the players...now we hear well AV needs time to get players for his system....

well the same thing could be said about torts right?

Its...we need Sather to wake up and find a goal scorer
really....been saying that for 3 years...the song hasn't changed...perhaps the artist has...but its the same fucking lyrics

It is funny we can still debate Torts to death post after post...LOL.

The bottom line to me is Sather needs to wake his useless/lazy a** up and add some players this team needs. That's what the issue is. And that should be the main topic of discussion here in my humble opinion.

And one other comment on Hank, watch him take off now that this contract nonsense is behind him. I bet we start seeing vintage Hank real soon.

Anybody concerned about Hank is a moron. This team would freakin suck without him. How quickly people forget that when the guy has just a .917% save3 percentage.

Sather screwed the Rangers when he did nothing at the deadline two seasons ago. Even with Gaborik hurt they should've beaten New Jersey and went to the finals. With some more help that could've been a magical season. Last season they had some nice additions but there were subtractions as well. This team is at the point where Sather needs to get off his butt and make the proper adjustments to this roster. You make this commitment to Lundy or one reason and one reason only. To win one or more cups before the end of the last contract he will ever sign. The time is now.

Don't waste your time responding to Danip. He has the brain the size of a pea. He's too much of a moron to realize that Lou has been an incompetent, old fart for over 8 years as a GM. He still thinks this is 2003. The best part to come is the Devils are going to suck for the next 10 years. I'm going to enjoy it. Yet, they will win just enough to never get a top pick.

That's 100% dead on Mess. It is also why I was furious at the trade DL two years ago, and felt it was a flat out disgrace and Sather simply not doing his job when he made no moves, and yet some were okay with Sather doing nothing for some reason, which blew my mind at the time. Anyway, that is water under the bridge, we move on.

Looking forward you nailed it. You sign Hank to that type of deal for one reason...TO WIN A CUP. Now support him Sather. No more oh we can't deal this kid or that kid, or this pick or that pick, you must make moves to win now. The window in the next 2, 3, 4 years. That should be the 100% focus now. Otherwise it was pointless to sign Hank to that deal. Sather said the right things yesterday, now we'll see if his actions actually back-up his words.

Last thing I will say again is Sather truly amazes me. The guy has been terrible here, yet some in the fan base still like him and give him at least a partial pass. It is mind blowing to me that a guy who has ZERO results in a results business gets a pass from ANY in this fan base, but it happens. That is what it is I guess. The focus now is putting together a team that can be a real legit cup team year after year for the next 2, 3, 4 years at least.
