I just checked BBReference, we are now at 111.5 points per 100 possessions which leads the league. We have been near the top all season but not #1 before. The Heat, Clippers and Rockets have usually been above us. Its really impressive that we jumped ahead of those team while going up against the defense of the Pacers and Thunder.
Yep. Dude, we are the best team in the NBA. Only one team ahead of us in standings is Indiana and we beat them. They have some losses coming up too.
Just based on Opp PTS we are 20th. I'm still getting used to the filters on BBref so I'm trying to do more focused searches, so I'm not the best at this. lol 16th on Opp Rebs
22nd Comparison from conference finalists last year (ORtg/DRtg): 2012-13 Heat: 2nd/9th 2012-13 Spurs: 7th/3rd 2012-13 Griz: 17th/2nd 2012-13 Pacers: 19th/1st 2013-14 Blazers: 1st/22nd (after 19 games) yes, we have some work to do. However, if we can improve from 22nd to say 12th, I think we're in the championship conversation.
Thanks for the find. Yeah, I would hope to get to about 15th by the all star break. Maybe crack the top 10? But that's a lot of work. I'm okay with it though. 15-12 Is not terrible.
Good research. Yes I think the next step for this team will be becoming average or hopefully slightly above average on defense. I'll have to say I have been impressed with our rebounding, I thought it would be a disaster with Aldridge/Lopez but it has been solid. I would be very curious to see the rank you list for conference finalists of the last 10 years.
Comparison from previous conference finalists (ORtg/DRtg): 2011-12 Heat: 8th/4th 2011-12 Thunder: 2nd/10th 2011-12 Celtics: 25th/1st 2011-12 Spurs: 1st/11th 2012-13 Heat: 2nd/9th 2012-13 Spurs: 7th/3rd 2012-13 Griz: 17th/2nd 2012-13 Pacers: 19th/1st 2013-14 Blazers: 1st/22nd (after 19 games) Well, there it is. In 2011-12 both the Spurs and the Thunder were very good offensive teams that were "only" slightly above average defensively. Again, if we can get to 12th we're contenders unequivocally.
Blazers are 6th in league in rebounding rate. Of the top 7 teams in rebounding rate, Portland has played them all (Hou, Chi, Ind, OKC, Det, Tor). I guess you can't take anything away from pre-season that is positive right?
Was Chris Mcgowan even watching it? From that gif, it looks like he was staring at his phone. lol. Also, I love Olsheys tie.
