-FU CK Robinson Cano and Jay Z - What pieces of sh it - Some Yankee Fan Jay z is - Glad they're not paying that lazy dog 24 mill when he's 40 - He will fail miserably in Seattle with no protection in that pitchers park - I fu cking hate him - He doesn't hustle now in NY with the media and he fans, he will go straight to the dugout after a groundout in Seattle when he's out of it by July - He could've had 24 million a year---the same he's getting---for 7 more years to be a Yankee, his hometown team, have a chance to win every year but now he'll be it out of it every year - He will hate Seattle and want to be traded - Unlike his boy Jay Z, by leaving the capital of the world for coffee town, he showed he's a businessman, not a business, man. -Signed with Jay Z to be friends with him and get his celebrity up? Have fun doing that in Seattle you nothing -You served your purpose for Jay Z, got him and money and he established himself. you will never see him now. He's not coming to Seattle for you, you nothing -I can't wait to go to his return at The Stadium on April 29th (my bday) and throw monopoly money at him and have a sign "$170mill not enough" -he wont spend 170 mill so 70 million more to be a nothing the rest of his career? -Now has no chance at the HOF, he will fad to anonymity -Would've liked him back at 7 yrs, 10 yrs is ridiculous
Who cares if he never hustled ( cause how many players truly hustle in baseball this is not the 80's anymore ) Jay Z job was to get Cano max amount money not to be a fan.. Yes it does suck that he left but am not gonna hate him..
You know its funny when people talk about money....sorry but I wouldn't turn that money down either. He was won in nyc already..check off the bucket list. .now what about the throught of this ..its a bigger challenge to win in Seattle where no one has won before. Take off your Yankee goggles and be realistic. U sound like a kansas city royals fan with throwing money at a ball player....oh have did you forget that we steal other hoke grown players by overspending too? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Ah well the deal is done so we'll have to get over it and look forward to what remains. I will have to say though that Cashmans moves can be scary, no need for Overbays, Hafners, and Youkilis types in this years roster. Be nice if they could figure a way to dump Wells.
.............and life goes on. It has always been about the money for all sports players. LET'S SEE WHAT MR. CASHMAN DOES. There is no such thing as YANKEE MYSTIQUE anymore. No one in Yankee management can sell this factor to their fans.....IT IS GONE as in over.
Never felt Cano was interested in staying a Yankee. Hope he has fun in Seattle playing in mediocrity, a big fish in a small pond.
In the end, It was all about the money, and Cano put himself in the position to have all that and more. But what strikes me as curious is that I think the Yankees saw a flaw in his character. I think last year, when Cano had the chance to be a leader with Jeter sidelined and a vocal presence in the clubhouse, it just didn't materialize. So Cano has his money and a place in the 2AM segment of Sports Center. When most play a team sport for championship and of course taking care of their family financially along the way, in the end, doesn't Cano remind you a little this morning of his good friend Arod. 2 guys into themselves, their stats, but nothing else. Like was mentioned by Billy Ripken and Ron Darling on MLB Network, I agree with them that you don't leave NY for Seattle. That this was a knee jerk reaction to the Ellsbury money, and if they would have let the dust settle, but JayZ is what he is. He got his boy his money, at the cost of his boys place in history. Ichiro was a lot better than Cano in his prime and where did that get him... How many World Series, rest in peace Robbie, enjoy the 7 to 10 less Hr's you'll hit there. You wanted to be paid and you deserved it. Now you also got what you deserved, you just don't know it yet.
...unless Seattle can add a few more pieces and offer Cano some protection, he won't get as many good pitches. So yes, I see his numbers falling off because of that and because of Safeco Field. And IMO, he'll have to overachieve in Seattle in order to be a shoo-in to make the HOF. ...evidently Monument Park and the HOF were not big enough factors to sway him to stay even if the Yanx had raised their offer to 8 years/$200 Mil because that's still a long way from the contract Seattle gave him. ...I'm still VERY disappointed and surprised that he's no longer a Yankee but Robbie made his decision and the Yanx will have to turn that page and move on without him.
Took some internet sleuthing to track you down. I figured you land somewhere sane. Also found another board with a lot of 59-related Sig files. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. 2013 was a wild ride. Settling into the new job, completing Ajax's training, and well busy defending 2A rights here in Cali post-newtown. So, now that Robbie is gone, will MLB finally just ban ARod for life and let the Yanks focus on pitching.
...lol...really, yeah, that's why I added the signature to my posts about me evidently "still being in some people's heads". Anyway, I thought I had emailed you as to where I "landed" but I may have forgotten. This is a very good place to post and I'm glad you found it...hope you'll be around more often. ...and I do seem to recall that you were busy with making a change professionally and I hope things are going well in that area. ...I'm over Robbie already and hopefully, it now allows the Yanx to remedy other weak areas with the money they saved. But I really fail to see how Cano alone somehow makes Seattle a contender. They need at least another 2 other solid players to compliment Cano and to give him some protection in that line up. I think he'll be pitched around and ultimately will press and swing at pitches out of the zone, which we have seen him do in NY. I don't wish anything bad on him but I just don't see him as being as productive as he was in YS...and I don't even want to think what the last 1/2 of that 10 year contract will be like.
No problem, my generation invented the internet, I can find anything, lol! Settled into the new job, and have started working towards my own venture - 2014 will likely be dynamic as well. Finished several major projects on the new (3 yes old now) house. The missus calls this year our guns & roses year, lol! I imagine you've been busy cobbling Christmas clubs for the masses. And I've been enjoying the GA countryside featured on TV, you sure have a major zombie problem down there. I just don't see Seattle competing with the other AL West teams just because they add Robbie. Especially a guy that doesn't project a type A go-getter work ethic and he just got paid. This is not going to be an Arod to Texas type of move. In fact it could be more akin of a Pujols to Anaheim move. Playing in New York takes a certain amount of will and drive. With their lineup I think he can be pitched around as it stands. So who do we have for 2B, 3B? Any chance Jete pulls a Ripken and gives up SS for another infield spot? What does the rotation project to be? And has Mo's son mastered the cutter yet?
...yeah the internet club business is still keeping me occupied...I might work 3 hours a day and even then, it's split up into an hour at a time...every once in a awhile I'll put in 6-7 hours but very rarely. Out here in the country with no employees and no boss the most stressful part of my day is during lunch when I am force to decide between a sandwich or a slice of leftover pizza, etc. ...life is good. ...I kinda like Infante because he's so versatile and a solid player...not sure how I feel about the BP roster...hopefully, they still have a couple of more moves up their sleeves.
What caught my eye about Cano.....on the Dominican Republic team he was hyped and very focused. On the Yankees not once did he display that same energy though he played well in spurts. I knew then that he was not motivated to be a team leader. I wish him well. The Yankees will move on.....and maybe as a team.... be better.........hopefully.
How do you really feel? Thank you Cano for your years here... but good luck, you'll need it up there... as far as Jay-Z... I hate all he touches... the style of "music" if you can call it that is crap and don't care for anything else he's done.
