You know this is a good point. I actually wanted to draft him that year, before we got "lucky" at the lottery. I forgot he is that young. He seems to have been around forever. But in reality only 6 years. I change my mind. #10 in 2007 for our #10 in 2013. It would be a solid move although I would rather trade #11 in 2012 for him.
But we'd only have to get within 2/3 of that 6.5M figure--4.3M. Leonard/Claver/Barton does it, although that would be the unbalanced trade to rule them all...
Bass isn't a bad option, but it's all a mater of cost. Does Boston want to trade him? How much would they want?
What do Leonar_ and young talent have to do with each other? Would you trade Lopez for Leonar_? If the tables were turned of course
Well, we got Lopez for less than that this offseason. Never know how teams value a player, or how their specific team situation will alter what you might otherwise think is fair value.
Doubt they want to trade him, but he's exactly what we need, a back up banger that can come in and take fouls, as well as draw them in the low post.
A small move that would add even more punch off the bench with his outside shooting, and this works under the cap: Claver to Toronto Novak to Portland
Just because you hate Leonard doesn't mean everyone does. He hasn't shown great awareness of the game but his physical tools are what would interest teams. Philly would just have to believe they could turn him into something. Also the Lopez for Leonard situation is completely different, one teams trying to tank one teams trying to win. If the Blazers were trying to tank and we had Hawes who we weren't planning on resigning then Leonard would be the type of player I wouldn't mind getting in return. Of course it wouldnt just been leonard going for Hawes there would be other young pieces being added to him as well. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
But we wouldn't give em. Leonard has a higher future value than what we'd get out of Evans this year IMO, and I'd bet Neil agrees. Our best bet is to add over the summer without loosing significant assets, kinda like last.
