http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...rris/index.html Tommie Harris is probably the best DT in football right now, if not the top he's definitely in the top 3 and no lower. He's only 290-300 pounds and pushes/pounds like a guy 30 pounds heavier, he's been amazing this season and much of last season. He's a big reason why Urlacher and Briggs are so effective. He's the most underrated defensive player in football and he's just starting to get the attention he deserves.
Yeah, Tommy is great. I saw him play when the Bears beat down the Seahawks, and he got to Hasselbeck almost every time.Well, I dont know if he is even the MVP of the Bears defense, so MVP is a bit much, but..
Wanna talk underrated? Talk Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, Vince Wilfork, and Jarvis Green. Harris is a great lineman, but I think you're blowing him up a little bit, defintiely not top 3, because Seymour is far better than him, and I can name a few more probably better than him. He's top 10 at worst though.

Yeah, actually I do. But when someone calls a random DT who clearly isn't even a MVP candidate an MVP candidate you need to argue it with SOMETHING, and the Pats are what I know best. Since they are better in almost every area than most teams its easy for me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yankshater213 @ Oct 8 2006, 10:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah, actually I do. </div> Well instead of rambling about how Richard Seymour is better than so and so, tell me why. You just sound like a biased Patriots fan.
Richard Seymour doesn't get the recognition he deserves because he always occupies 2 blockers, sometimes three. He never gets the sacks because part of our scheme is on blitzes for the line to open up the holes for the blitzers. Most teams do something like that, but Seymour, being an END, not a tackle, does it better than 90% of the defensive lineman in the NFL. He also knows enough to recognize that if its a 3 step drop to stop rushing and get his hands up. He did that to Carson Palmer at least twice last week, and is better at that than a lot of people give him credit for. Just because he doesn't have the flashiness or the marketability that other players have he's really under appreciated and has been one of the best linemen in the NFL for a while, and will continue to be with the Pats.

But Tommie Harris is the best DT in football, he faces double teams just like any elite DT/DE does. Great passer and great at shedding blocks and being disruptive against the run. And unlike huge 330+ plus players his motor and stamina don't die out.
