And thats why this team is not going anywhere and is getting all the pub from the national media right now. These threes are WIDE open, due to moving the ball arounnd. Olshey hired stotts from Dallas after they made their title run and put the pieces around aldridge to mimic that teams success. Look how similiar aldridge and nowitzkis games are these days. Pure brilliance in my opinion

He's finally healthy. Once he learned to stop playing through every single injury, it allowed his body to heal and what we're seeing is just how good he can be.

The benefits of the unentitled mentality. He'll outwork everyone no matter what contract he signs or what accolades he receives. He's a rare player and there has to be something special about him for Jerry Sloan to trust him like he did.

Yeah I definitely would rather have Wes. He has a much better attitude, is a vastly superior defender, a better shooter, and can be effective without the ball.

Wes is doing what is needed to help his team win. Probably one of the most unselfish players on this team. I used to use him a lot for trades, thinking he just wasn't the guy we needed. I am so glad he made me eat crow. Matthews is beast and I'm glad he's on this team.

This makes zero sense. So a teams "scouts" Wes and sees he is shooting over 46% from every spot behind the arc, and decides to take away the 3 from him. That doesn't effect his 3P% like you would have everyone believe. He just won't take the shot, and will pass, leading to an open shot for someone else. Wes' defender is rendered completely ineffective at providing help defense.

Scout all you want. You cannot take away everything. Die by SMASH or SPLASH? Thanks for nothing scouting report.

So, what factors do you see that are different from before (perceived or real), that has made you change your opinion? This kind of stuff, for me, that makes for interesting discussion.

Mainly the way he's taking his shots. Everything is in the flow of defense. Nothing seems too rushed with him now. It's like the game slowed way down for him.

I think his defense has really improved as well. He's utilizing his strengths to bump players out of position.

I think one of his biggest improvements is his ball handling. It's harder to guard him because he can now post you up and dribble penetrate.

I think the game slowed down because of the chemistry, and trust, especially with having a real center having his back. I think he's always been good at finding the open passing lane and being the outlet for a broken play. I think you're right on the ball handling, driving, finishing. He's definitely worked at it.

I'm a HUGE Wes fan. I love his tenacity, his toughness, his apparent love for the game, his unselfishness, his humbleness. Heck, I even love how he goes over to high-five Paul Allen at the start of every game.

Having said that, he can't keep up this shooting. He isn't going to finish the season above 50% on 3-pointers. People here need to be a little more realistic about that.

I would love to be wrong, and hope he can continue this shooting, but I'll be incredibly surprised.

The way I see it, Wes' shooting is going to come down, and Dame's has gotta go up. So it'll be a nice combination, and hopefully it happens at the same time.

Wesley started the season hot but he is a streaky shooter. But that's every journeyman player in the league.
We need another shooting guard in the rotation to take some of the pressure off.
