I just think its GD awesome that Portland lost by two while Batum had 5 turnovers, and no one is talking about it. Oh, how far we have come.

Or Wes (2-10) with 4 points.

    Or LA with 3 turnovers.

    Team loss. Next victim: Utah.

Either that or we have just come to accept Batum's TO's.

Don't you have another "trade Batum" thread to post on iamatrailblazerfan? Was it the dozenth thread that you decided to accept Batum for being worth every penny, or was it just that people just stopped responding to the spam?

I was thinking about Batum's no look passing this season and part of those turnovers are teammates who can't handle the pass or don't see it coming. I am impressed with Nico's passing game, but he really hides the direction of his pass and if you're not ready for it, fumbled out of bounds. I've seen him do it to LA, Lopez and Freeland many times. Nic is quick!

Any way to get Boozer without giving up anything. Pretty sur Chicago would love to get rid of that salary.

Jordan Crawford isn't a point guard. Supposedly Mo Williams is, no?

He makes too much. Almost impossible to match his salary.

That's what I figure. Plus it would curb T-Rob's development. But imagine Boozer coming off the bench come playoff time.

He would be a great bench weapon, but I think he's making something like 16 million a year.

It was kind of a sloppy game, but defense was the real culprit in that loss. Way too much dribble penetration, failure to close out on shooters, etc. Dallas executed their defensive plan and Portland didn't. Not much else to say about that game.

No wonder this board is dead in the midst of a great Blazer run.

Calm down, Nate. You've never been mod material, so I don't understand why you call out other posters, argue at length with them over petty BS, and derail numerous threads.

The stuff with Mags in this thread should be embarrassing to you if you read it again. Mags is a poster who loves the Blazers. You're a moderator who said Wes' heart wasn't with the team after the first game of the season. You fucked up the stats from that game, even.

Bench Mo. Play Earl and Crabbe. Wright will play better with a real PG and real team offense.

It won't happen though. Mo is Stotts' guy.

If we could get a quality starter level talent for our bench as when we brought Gerald Wallace or Marcus Camby that would be a huge boost to this team. But those players are rarely available in trades, and I don’t think we should send out picks or other long term assets to acquire that type of player. It would be a delicate balance to bring in one of those players wanting minutes but not disrupt the current chemistry.

Now if we are talking about bringing in an inferior talent; I think its just too late to significantly improve the bench through a trade this year. The good benches have been with their teams and learned the systems being run. New players will take time to adjust and settle in to a role. If we traded youth or picks for Spencer Hawes would he be happy with Freelands 14 minutes per game? Who else would Spencer take minutes from? Freelands main role is help defense, would our defense be acceptable having a guy who is poor help defender in his place?

Any addition has a large amount of risk, it could help the team but it could easily backfire. We are well into the season and there isn’t going to be practice time, so there is less of a potential benefit. Trades for contending teams need to be done in the offseason, you almost never see trades in the middle of the year that lead to a title.

this thread really dropped off the charts with a win over the Jazz, but i actually get more enthused about finding help after a win. Now that we know we have a really good team, let's improve it. mo Williams did his best to try to lose the game for us tonight. If we could swap him out for a good defender (taller than watson preferably), good distributor guy, I would do it. If he was aggressive to the basket that would be a plus. And we really need a second guy at center who has center height. I love joel Freeland but he is just not big and quick enough.

You just described Lowry. He would be awesome off the bench if he would accept the role.

But yeah, the bench was not awesome tonight. Robinson and Freeland were solid, but Mo was 4-12 and Wright was 2-9. That's brutal.

I know it's not showing up in the stats but I think Thomas Robinson is making progress. I would like to know what happened to the rebound machine we thought we had in preseason.
