So Rudy Gay to the Kings for John Salmons, Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes.

Might this make Patterson or another Toronto big available through waivers or trade?

Apparently Jason Thompson will be available from the Kings with the Raptors putting Lowry on the block.

What is the latest word on Lowry? I would seriously consider him, but he has not been receptive in the past to coming off the bench. And this is the last year of his contract.....

Anyone want to help throw down for this? I can make a batch of cookies and have a box of legos leftover in my basement. Anything to help protect that rim.

I wouldn't mind Thompson, at least, Thompson of previous years. Saw highlights of a game of theirs the other day, and he looks like he put on a few pounds recently. Looked kind of chunky. I dunno if it was being around Chuck Hayes that did it.

I think Thompson might be a decent backup big; somebody who can play at little bit of 4 or 5. Maybe a change of scenery and getting a chance to play for a good team rejuvenates him a little bit?

This thread would have been a good place for a Sac Queens reference.

I was literally going to do that in the original post, but I figured it would get edited for offending someone.

I need a picture of Gay and Outlaw standing next to each other.

Edit: Even better if OUTLAW GAY COUSINS stand next to each other.

I've recently been wondering about Lowry. It's been a few years since I've seen him play, so I don't really know how he's doing these days. But if he's how I remember him then replacing Mo with Lowry would really benefit the bench. He'd be a much more capable "off-the-bench-scorer", and also has PG skills.
Also, after that DAL game I'm starting to wonder a little more strongly if we should be looking at Asik. Lowry + Asik = Contender?

How will we manage to get both though? If you are talking about trading Lopez, I will strongly disagree.

Have to deal Lopez to get Asik. I see no other way.

Then I would say no fucking way. Lopez has done soooo much for Aldridge and this team.

Agreed. And depending on what happens between now and the deadline I might consider it. I haven't seen Asik play enough to have much opinion on him. But if what I've read about his defense is to be believed, then it might make sense - despite Lopez's good work we could still use a rim protector. And while chemistry has been great to this point, I question whether it can be sustained over the course of a full season. At some point that chemistry becomes old hat - it's like the "honeymoon phase" of dating. Maybe a mid-season trade would give us a second chance at creating late-season chemistry with a new player who's covering for everyone else's defensive mistakes. After all, just like it's more important to end the season hot than begin the season hot, I think late-season chemistry is better than early-season chemistry.
