exactly. Pharaoh has issued an apology for being in a snowball fight and grown men 2-3 times their age are spending time grousing over this nonsense like it's actually something. Good grief. Most of the players I've met while I was attending UO and afterwords have been entitled idiots... heck I could extend that statement to most college students I've known and myself at that age. I'm under no illusion that todays Duck players are all that different. Given that, I'm supposed to be stunned or outraged that kids were being stupid or disappointed that the coach disciplined them (or not) for being typical stupid kids? Some fans seem to follow sports as an excuse to be openly upset about something other then their own lives

It wasn't just a snowball fight. They were blocking traffic by standing in the road, dumping snow on cars, and then pelting the drivers when they opened the door. They blocked the road and then they wouldn't move. A snowball fight is between willing participants. This was students blocking streets and then obscuring the vision of the drivers by dumping snow on the windshield. When the drivers got out, they were pelted with snow. If you don't understand how that's serious, I don't know what to tell you. Don't act like it was just a bunch of kids having some fun and a guy walked through the fight and got an errant snowball. THEY WERE BLOCKING TRAFFIC.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you were the resident apologist on the board. The team can do no wrong.

    Duly noted. Carry on.

it's not a huge deal, but I feel like the suspension is warranted. You can't treat strangers like that in any type of setting. Lesson learned (I assume).

For those saying the snowgate was not a big deal...

    http://www.insideedition.com/headlines/7461-student-disciplined-for-dumping-snow-on-professors-car

Something like 2.5 million views on youtube and national media attention.

And, for those saying he didn't dump snow inside the car...the media and victims say otherwise, but, I'm sure you know better...

The student who dumped snow into a professor's car during a snowball fight at the University of Oregon is now being disciplined. In an INSIDE EDITION online poll, we asked if you think it was right for the University to suspend Brown. 50% said yes and 50% said no.

What they “believe” to be football players? The kid with the bucket that threw the snow INTO the car is clearly Pharaoh Brown, who posted a picture on his twitter of him in the ..... They threw a large amount of it inside his car.

We have identified the football player who threw the snow INSIDE the professor's car (as shown above with the blue container) as Pharaoh ...

“We know initially the thing was organized by football players." .... They trashed the one car when they threw snow inside the car."

We get it, you have a law enforcement background and that is your focus on this. IMO this was excessive horseplay. Brown should be disciplined but no matter how many statutes you quote this was not a criminal act.

A lady got arrested for writing on someone's window with lipstick. Welcome to America :devilwink:

" this was not a criminal act."

So says you...and clearly you don't know what defines a criminal act...however, statutes and case law say otherwise. What remains to be seen is if EPD pursues the matter as a criminal act or lets it slide.

Thanks for being an author of authority in an area you know nothing about!

If the EPD doesn't pursue criminal charges it doesn't mean they're letting it slide, it means they don't think a crime was committed.

And as a voter, tax payer and a person who has served on juries I do have a right to express my opinion on what I feel is a crime or isn't a crime. I clearly said Brown deserves to be punished but again, IMO, I don't think this is something that the police or courts should handle.

I don't think he should be arrested either, but I also think people are downplaying what happened. Would people be pissed if he wasn't a football player and he was disciplined by the school? I'm not so sure.

I do know this, these knuckleheads reflected very poorly on the university. They need to serve some kind of punishment. Whether that's being suspended for a game or doing 100 laps around the field, that's up to the school and coaches.

If the school disciplined him (and who knows, maybe they did) I really wouldn't care, but we wouldn't have heard about it if it happened. I know from personal experience that schools can't release any details on disciplinary actions for legal reasons. It is interesting to me how sports teams get around that.

The Ducks don't usually release that information, as seemed to be the case with Colt Lyerla, but I think they felt like they had to release the suspension of Brown because of the high profile nature of the incident.
