I'm in Orlando for a few days before heading to Miami. I suck at golf, but I enjoy it, and I enjoy drinks and smoking. And I enjoy drinks and smoking while golfing.

Today, I played a round at The Legends at Orange Lake Resort, an Arnold Palmer-designed course. LOVED it. Plus, Florida is the only warm place in the US at the moment. Got me wondering, what's the best course people have played here?

I've also played Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes, etc. Planning/hoping to play at The Grand Golf Club at The Grand Del Mar in the San Diego area this summer. As I said, I'm not that great, so I'm really not worthy, but I'd be curious to hear about S2 members' experiences. I love me a nice, beautiful golf course.

3 way tie for The HCP.......Bandon, St. Andrews, Pebble Beach. Shot over 125 on all 3 and had a blast doing it.

The course at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam was nice.

Haha nice. Sounds like me. I'm bad but not that bad, though.

Going for a swim this AM, then heading back out for round two this afternoon. Sitting out on the patio with my coffee and watching over the greens has me motivated.

Forgot, I played on Hualalai in Kona about a decade ago. That was a pretty amazing course, too.

How long were you there? Hopefully, it was free for you.

Both the Bandon Dunes courses are fantastic. Pacific is the better one IMO. I had the chance to play Pebble Beach on a business trip several years ago, and it was awesome.

For purely nostalgic reasons, St Andrews old course is the best for me that I have played, but all of the St Andrews courses are great

Cabo del Sol in Cabo San Lucas is my favorite. Fantastic views of the ocean there.

On this shot I was lined up waaay right, but I still hit it on the green!

I've played Torrey Pines in San Diego, Sahalee in Seattle, and Greyhawk in Scottsdale. Those are all nice courses. I love the courses around Sunriver too.

    It's life-changing. And like I said, I'm no golfer.

It was. Had a blast! When stationed at Memphis NAS, the base course was used for the US Open qualifying. I played it the Monday after and stunk up the jpoint with the narrow fairways...

At a local course around here I'll hit 90. Played my first round when I was 27 or so. Played a bunch and started getting pretty good, then we had kids. I only play about 5 times a year at best. Love the game. Just like this place, don't take it too seriously, but enjoy it.

This reminds me. I need to get my SD city card so I can go play Torrey Pines for cheap. My friend played it the week after a PGA event and it kicked his ass (and he plays it semi routinely). I've only played twice since moving to SD, so I'll need to go hit some balls before embarrassing myself at Torrey.

How many yards to the green?

That is one hell of an intimidating shot . . .
