nope...the guy is going to a new team, new fans, he knows in reality that the Mets are second class in the city and wants to do something about it. he wants to drum up business for his NEW team.

...lol...yup, and Granderson is going to put the Mets over the top and push the Mets past the Yanx as the better team, right.

he is a definite upgrade for the Mets over what they had in their outfield for the longest time

    ..."feel the wrath"?...uhhh, you don't consider .298 .355 .426 .781 with 52 SBs a good year?

...well, you're the one who cited "last year", not me. And if you seriously don't realize the difference between the RF fence in YS vs Citifield, you're lost. And if you don't realize he'll no longer be hitting in the middle of a stacked line up anymore, you're lost. And if you seriously believe he'll lead the NL in HRs, your delirious.

...what the hell does salary have to do with it?...we're comparing players, not money....Jesus, stay on topic or let it go.

...why would he "feel the wrath" of Yankee fans with repeating the numbers he posted last year? (.298 .355 .426 .781 with 52 SBs) ...you make no sense.

What's the problem? he's trying to win over Mets fans, and he was a hated Yankee last year, so he's doing what he has to do, no big deal.

you quoted stats...and I said...for the money he is receiving..i want and expect 2011 stats ....otherwise I would take Grandy back and use the 6 million since salary has nothing to do with anything and spend it on Cano where 2b is hard to find players with his stats...

    so ...in essense...

Id rather have Beltran, Cano and Grandy over Ellsbury Beltran and...player x
and before you even go there..

yes if given a choice id do the 10 year deal for a 2b man with the type of numbers Cano has put up over a 7 year deal for a guy who has had one MVP type season and one very good season who's primary resource is his running ability which will not last 5 years down the road never mind 7

...Jesus tap dancing Christ, the Cano deal has nothing to do with signing Elsbury or comparing Elsbury to Granderson...like I said, earlier, if you cannot stay on topic without drifting off on an entirely different tangent, just let it go.

...If he truly wants to win over Mets fans he'd be better served by using his bat instead of his mouth.

The problem is Grandy'd a good guy. Cano is going to go to Seattle and say how much he loved playing there before signing

My last post was half deleted by me by mistake.
I would continue to say that all these guys are like the scene in Bull Durham when Costner is teaching him how to answer reporters. They are all looking for the kiss ass sound bite. Grandy's a good guy, Cano is ok, but they all are going to say the political correct thing for the moment, that is why Rosenthal was about to barf over the original JZ on MLB today. After a while it gets sickening. Vtte said it best earlier about Granderson, great comment, and you want to talk about a bad contract, 60 million for 150-200 K's and no lineup protection, and Citi Field, he got paid for the past, just like so many of them.

Grandy is a very good guy. He did some good things with the Yankees but the strikeouts became ridiculous.
