Alright guys here it is... the preseason has begun and the regular season isnt that far away! Wow I'm excited. So what I'm going to do is reveiw what we've got and predict how this fine season will unfold.I'll go over a few categories...OFFSEASON MOVESWe really didnt do all that much to make a big change. But we got a pretty solid rookie for our pick, Jordan Farmar. We picked up Maurice Evans and Shammond Williams, lost Devean George and Devin Green. Not that big of a change there. I think our biggest pick up was Vlad Rad (easily). 25 years old, a pretty solid guy but very one dimentional to me. Sure, it's great he can shoot the 3, but what else can he really do? Although he's not that bad of a player, I wouldnt of minded someone.. well better. Oh yeah, we lost Von Wafer too...So currently, this is how our roster sits.Chris Mihm CAndrew Bynum C Kwame Brown PF/CBrian Cook PFVladimir Radmanovic PF Ronny Turiaf FLamar Odom SFLuke Walton SFKobe Bryant SGMaurice Evans SGJordan Farmar GAaron McKie GSasha Vujacic GSmush Parker PGShammond Williams PGMy predicted non-factor(s): Aaron McKie, Shammond Williams, Ronny TuriafMy predicted X-Factor(s): Hopefully Kwame BrownSTANDINGS/RECORDLast year we finished 3rd in our division, with a 44-37 record. 7th playoff season. This year will be different. I'll say why.1. Phil Jackson - Greatest coach ever if you ask me. The more time he'll spend with a team, the better they will get. Plain and simple. His triangle offense can only get better as people get more and more adapted to it.2. The team is better - I mean look at the roster compared to last year. Look at what we did last year. We were only 3 wins behind the Clippers... 3 wins! Next year will be better because we now know what we're doing and our offense has improved some. We have a shooter in Vlad Rad. He'll be putting up 10+ points and that is plenty help.My predicted regular season record: 51-31My predicted divisional standings: Maybeeeee 2nd, it's gonna be close though. My predicted playoff seeding: anywhere between 5 and 7, 8 if something goes wrong.I don't really feel like typing much more but if you want to add something feel free or make your own predictions. Things I also didnt touch on: Induvidual stats, team stats, porbably other stuff as well.Go Lakers! :yahoo:

The Lakers shall shock the league, they are virtually an unknown factor in the league. No one knows how well they have improve after a year under Phil, they showed major improvement at the end of last year, and now the players are more experienced, and know what to expect and what they need to improve on from last year and have worked on them especially Kwame Brown. I say the Lakers finish second in the west this season, and upset the western conference. Kobe shall win MVP honors across the board including the NBA Finals. And is is so

I would really like to see Smush Parker evolve into a Jason Williams player...setting up like he does to Wade and ShaqThat way Kobe can focus on scoring then getting the team involved when thats his job.

Sure steals are nice but I'd rather he stay on his man good enough for them not to so easily score.

Great thread Eliite, I agree wtih your record of 51-31. I don't agree with what you said about Vlad Rad though. I think under Phils system, he's going to show he can do a lot more than shoot. He's going to have to rebound and play solid defense as well. I also wanted to add that the Lakers also have Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock, Mamadou N?Diaye and Marcus Douthit. I think we can also add these guys to your non-factor list. Although, I do think J.R. Pinnock is going to be prett good. He can jump out the gym and is a very strong guard. We'll have to see how Phil uses him if he uses him at all. Peace.........

I agree with gemini I think vlad will give us more rebounding than he usually does and regarding us being behind by only 3 wins to the Clippers...........let's not forget that they gave away their last few games to avoid facing the Mavs in the playoffs so its not as close as it looks like.I agree with you though regarding Brown us our x-factor, if he can play the way he did in the end of the regular season and be more consistent on his defense then we'll be fine.

Eh.. I think the Lakers may get the 6th seed in the Western Conference, but I have a feeling that Phoenix will ruin them again. However, I'm not a poor sport, so I'll still root for the team.I wanted to do a "individual stats predictions" thing, but don't have time right now. I'll do that later.
