Most I would give them is Meyers, Mo and Crabbe; but only if Lowry agent said he would be happy being a backup here and our coaching staff likes the fit. No way would I think about giving them CJ. Lowry is a half season rental. Now I'd expect Toronto could get more than we offer but hey you never know. Never thought we'd be able to acquire Gerald Wallace or Marcus Camby for what we did at the deadline.

To get the best value in trades you have to be willing to not make a deal. Teams that do whatever they can to complete a trade get the shorter end of the stick. Just like buying a used car, be willing to walk away and sometimes you'll get a steal.

I think the Raptors would rather tank and get a high draft pick than keep Lowry to get a few extra wins. So they'll accept the best offer that gives them assets beyond this season.

That would not be a bad deal for Toronto. Being in the last year of his contract, Lowry doesn't have so much value. They would get two young prospects and they could trade Mo again at the trade deadline for a draft pick. For me, it's Portland that might balk. They would be giving up quite a bit for a rental and it's highly unlikely Lowry would decide to stay here. Mo Williams is still a good asset. He has a long history of being a good shooter and it might be assumed his shooting will revert to that level and he is on a great contract.

The other idea is to find a third team that has a draft pick, but then the question becomes; since Lowry is clearly better than Mo, why wouldn't they just trade straight with Toronto. One exception might be LA Lakers. They may need a PG, as Nash's status is becoming pretty iffy. And being "showtime", they might prefer a flashy Mo. This trade would basically be Mo and someone like Leonard or Barton/Crabbe to the lakers, then they send their 2014 first round pick plus filler to Toronto and Lowry goes to Portland.

That’s impossible; the Lakers can’t trade their pick since they already traded away their 2015 one. Plus they are closer to tanking than contending so it makes no sense to trade away draft picks. They won’t win anything this year with or without Lowry.

I highly doubt anyone gives up a decent first round pick for Lowry, let alone Mo, picks are the most valuable asset in the current NBA.

Latest trade scuttle: Raptors trying to construct deal with Knicks that would send Kyle Lowry to New York

That would be a hell of a move if the Knicks could pull that off. A legit PG can steer the ship and get everyone to start sharing the ball

Knicks had interest in Denver's Andre Miller, but focusing now on trying to make deal for Toronto's Kyle Lowry, sources tell Yahoo.

Re Kyle Lowry: I'm told Raptors are shopping him everywhere, but NY is "most promising destination" at this point. TOR wants a 1st-rd pick.

If talks progress and no other teams jump in, trade would likely have to feature Ray Felton going to Toronto with at least one more player

Neither does NY. I imagine Shumpert and salary to make it work.

It is a good deal for NY because they would have a good shot of resigning him. We would have a next to nothing shot of resigning him. Not to sit behind Damian.

Well we can trade a 2018, 2019 or 2020 first round pick away but that would be a big mistake just to acquire a backup player for part of a season.

I imagine it's Shump with Felton as filler. Still, seems that taking on Felton hhurts the value of Shump. Unless they're forced to include Hardaway as well.

The question isn't whether we can, it's whether we should.

    I think we shouldn't.

Thought this was funny, with the two threads we have in here on trades, one with Asik, one with Lowry.....

If the Knicks don't like Shumpert's attitude, wait until they get a load of Lowry. Ask Kevin McHale how easy Lowry is to deal with...

Lowry is a pouty player. Wouldn't be good for chemistry for him to come off the bench.

yeah, Andre would be an awesome true point guard, but how could he survive in Stotts 3point madness?
