Hey gang, hope all is well with everyone & that you had a great thanksgiving. I'm happy with all the new signings but 7 years for Ellsbury is a bit over the top for me. I'd have gone 5 years tops. But we'll see what happens. Still no Morales though. I still think he'd be a great pick up. 1B / DH. Then again maybe we need to keep the DH spot open for the older guys.

Now as far as that lazy ungrateful bastard Cano. I see where 59 already covered this but lack of respect? REALLY!!! Yeah 7 years which would have taken him to 38 years old & 175M, I mean how the hell is that a lack of respect. And yes I also almost chocked when he said it wasn't about the money. It was about respect & feeling like family. Family? I read in today's paper that he's only sending $600.00 a MONTH to support his 3 year old son in the D.R.

    Honestly I won't miss him.

Let's see if Cano starts running hard to first base in Seattle. If he does that I will be so pissed since he never ran hard once to first base as a Yankee. The guys is a schmuck as far as I am concerned. I guess next we will see the Beltran press conference and then hopefully they will introduce Infante for 2nd base or have a trade for a 2nd baseman or decent pitcher involving Gardner?

Cano was able to fly under the radar as a personality until last year. The Core 4 and Arod dominated coverage and he was never the focus and or capable of becoming the face of the franchise. IN the end, as a player he will be great, and as a person, lacking as in the example of 15 million last year and only 600.00 a month to his son, so when he says family, that tells you who he really is.

...if the Mariners are not contenders afters the first 1/2, Cano had better be having a good year...otherwise he'll "feel the wrath" of the fans.

we probably won't be contenders. But Cano having a "slump" year would be the best hitter we've had in half a decade.

...I dunno, if the Mariners can pick up a legit bat (Cruz would be perfect, IMO) to provide protection to Robbie they might just contend. Problem is, like the Yanx, the Mariners are in a tough division and all those teams have to play each other so many times that it makes it hard to make the PS as a WC...they'd likely have to with the division, but who knows?...as it stands right now, they still may finish last in their division.
...the M's have the money to continue to add the pieces they need..

So robbie cano can't send more than $600 a month to his kid and hes been making 15million and now will bump up to 24 million? He is a bigger low life piece of shit schmuck than I thought and I am ecstatic to have all the other pieces that came instead of him and his bloated salary. Can't wait to see the reception he gets when he comes back here. In lieu of his comments I hope the fans boo the shit out of him. Surprised Jeter hasn't had a talk with "mr. family" about doing the right thing and taking care of his obligations. Stories like this about a 2 faced scumbag like cano that involves kids pisses the shit out of me. Can't wait to see Mr. ego'e stats out of shoebox yankee stadium when hes not surrounded by a lineup of stars

59, I have 4 kids and do and give everything I can for them as I imagine all of us here would who have them. A situation with this guys assets just should not happen and sounds like he's fighting it besides. Wonder who leaked this story that sounds like its been going on for awhile. Wouldn't be someone from the yankees that didn't like the lack of respect remarks could it? :tsktsk::tsktsk:

...could be the Yanx because you know Cano's side certainly didn't leak it...I'm sure this is not the kind of publicity Seattle had in mind.

...to be honest, I didn't even know Robbie had a child and this was the first time I had heard about it but the lack of "support" for his child floored me. I mean between this and his "no respect" comments it really speaks volumes about his character in general.

...I can't lie, I've been a Cano fan since day one and have always backed him when people dogged him...I won't ever make the mistake of defending him again.

Speaking of trades and filling a void, I'm looking to trade my son who is 26 looking for an MBA or Doctor in return, could throw in his 21 year old sister because she went to Bama and publically pronounces how great Saban is. I have fired my player development department and have made some small changes in philosophies.

On a serious note, One story I heard on MLB yesterday about the Yankees possibly being happy to "finish second in the Cano" sweepstakes was that because of his affiliation with JayZ, Arod, and in the past Melky, the Yankees were growing tired of the bashing from that group by day and then trying extract money from them at night. I really feel that the Yankees, if they wanted Cano, would have signed him. There has to be more that we will never know. There is no excuse for paying 600 a month while making 15 mil unless he is doing it without a court order and according to the mother, that's not the case. So he's just another punk. Big loss for the Yankees but after having to root for an asshole like Arod, I couldn't do it for another dick like Cano for 10 more. I'd like to thank the Yankees for sparing me that.

...I figure Cano has got about 5 solid years of Cano-like production ahead of him, barring injury...but the last 5 years of that contract could be brutal.

Agree major and moron off to bad start as an agent despite cano contract poisoning the waters between his potential free agents and the yankees. Bet whatever discounts and perks he might have been getting from the yanks come to a grinding halt
