Ok, put your foot on the gas pedal and don't let up. We need a decent 2nd baseman, a starter or two and some bullpen help. Let's go....

All the big wigs were at the Ellsbury Press Conference this AM, Jacoby seems really stoked to be a Yankee. The whole event was total class, yep keep that pedal to the metal.

...it wasn't much of a "battle"...the Yanx wanted Elsbury and to get him they had to over pay, as is the case with most every FA, end of story.

...McCann and Beltran were also over paid/extended as well. Would it have been better to let Boston have Beltran, Elsbury and McCann for one year less?

    ...didn't think so.

The word battle does not apply, Necessity does and since there as we know was no answer in the minors you always overpay. I do feel the Yankees did a good job of bringing in good character guys who fit Yankee Stadium well.

No question, many of us are capitalist driven, but this higher paid group will put more fannies in the seats than the econo team of last year.

Yeah I missed more Yankee ABs last season by choice. Especially when the bottom half of the order was getting up.

It was hard to watch last year. Only a true fan could of have endured it. I feel that despite the years or the money, I feel we are better. The Arod situation was really not any of the Yankees doing. The injuries and re-injuries to Tex and Grandy was just bad luck. However knowing Arod was out till July, the catching and the lf and RF issues went basically ignored till just before Spring Training. This year they started to correct the wrong, I believe internally, they wanted Cano on there terms and were turning over a new leaf when it comes to long term contracts to players past 38 at the end of their contract. The Beltran signing was a need signing without other options. I feel we will have a more exciting team to watch next year, we need to be lucky health wise...

...yes, I know, which is why I said "it wasn't much of a battle".
