Dunleavy banks in a 3 from the top of the game. Bulls win. 91-90 Noah 21 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks 3 steals
Well, in the big scheme of things this is definitely a pointless win, but you can tell from the players reaction that it was important to them. Right now I'm ambivalent about whether we make the playoffs or not, but these last few games has been a sober reminder about how hollow it is to root for ping-pong balls. It's much more satisfying to root for wins and championships.
Is it 82 regular season games to get us to playoffs in position to win a championship or not? If it is 82 + 82 (this year and next), then ping ping balls make a lot of sense.
It was clear by the players reactions that they are not trying to tank. Injuries, and until last night, a string of very poor pg play by Hinrich and Noah not playing up to what he can do, was the reason why we were 2-9 since Derrick went down. Deng is still hurt, and we barely beat Milwaukee. Noah played a monster game. And compared to what he had played recently so did Hinrich!. We had Butler back and he was aggressive offensively. We beat a Bucks team that also has injuries. That being said, a win is a win. I will take it.
