Why would Chicago do that? Just to let Pau go and save having to amnesty Boozer? Deng deserves better: I wish somehow we could end up with him.

I don't know if you've noticed but Kobe's not quite the player he was then. And he's signed for two more years.

Let's put this out in the open: Pau is paid NINETEEN MILLION DOLLARS this season. Maybe the Lakers can get Amare for him.

And they still got the better of that deal.

Its an expiring so its not like he is on the books for another year at that. Chicago does it because their owner is very frugal when it comes to his NBA team and there have been many reports that their owner won't amnesty Boozer because he doesn't want to pay someone not to play.

Why are Chicago so bad? They didn't have Rose all last season and they were still good - I don't get it. Have they tuned out Thibodeau? The Larry Brown effect?

No, they just didn't get shafted as badly as Philly. Arguably Denver or Orlando did better.

Chicago lives on defense. Boozer getting old, deng banged up, Heinrich is garbage. Butler and Gibson are role players. Their only hope is dunleavy chucking threes.

They will be in playoffs by default

That's just silly. The Lakers got more than they gave up, no matter how poorly Howard fit. What Denver and Orlando got out of the deal has no bearing on that.

What team did Vuceuvic come from? Because that guy is going to be good for a long time.

I thought they tuned him out late last season. He had convinced his team to play 100% on defense and move the ball around on offense. Once the other team starts scoring while you're giving 100% defense over a long stretch of games, and you lose, of course players start to tune out the coach. Nate Robinson saved them last year, and he was the polar opposite of a player that Thibs likes to coach.

He played at USC in college. Was a solid, yet quiet, player for them. He seems to be another of those 18ish PER guys who puts up numbers on bad teams. It's the Fantasy Basketballization of the interweb GM job. It's prevalent.

See, it's hard to really say that as a fact when he's only played less than a full season with one other team on his rookie year. Now, if he were to go to a contending team and stink it up, then this could be warranted, but we really only know him from Orlando.

    Nikola Vucevic stats

ORL owned that trade. Afflalo and Vucevic? Harkless? 5 picks?
