Re: Rate your team's off-season The Raptors had the best off-season in the entire NBA. They had great additions that will fit in their run-and-gun system such as TJ Ford and Fred Jones. Not many key losses except for Charlie V but we got a good point guard in TJ Ford. We had 2 great draft picks in Bargnani and Tucker. Tucker was a steal IMO.I give Colangelo an A. Great Job.
Re: Rate your team's off-season PJ Tucker was not a steal. He isnt really an NBA type player. His main position in college was the PF and he is only 6 5. He cant play on the perimeter so he is going to have a very hard time in the NBA.Sure, you gain TJ who will be a very good fit for the raps, but at the same time they lose Charlie V. Now I know they needed a PG and this was probably a smart move but they still lost a good player. ALSO, they lost a player that gave them 20 and 6. You can call him a ballhog all you want, but he shot a very good percentage at 47 and a VERY good percantage from 3 point range with over 44 percent a game. If you dont call that a key loss, I dont know what is. You can say he was a ball hog or a cancer all you want, but he put up good numbers and shot a good percentage. Also, what talent or skill does it take by Colangelo by picking Bargnani? The Raps got lucky and had the #1 pick in the draft. Of course they are going to get a player that is going to benefit them now or later. In this situation, it is going to be down the road. Everyone seems to be very high on Anthony Parker but I am not too impressed with this guy. He was ran out of the league earlier in his career becaue he didnt get enough time and his numbers were garbage. So he goes overseas and does well all of a sudden. Have any of you ever thought it is because it is the Euro league? Not very good competition can make a bad or decent player look very good. I dont think he is going to do jack.Despite all of that, getting Fred Jones was very helpful. Very underrated player IMO.
Re: Rate your team's off-season Well I'd get the Rockets a 8/10.The rookies we picked were good and everyone is excited of Novak. Mcgrady himself says he is impressed with Steve Novak. I really like the pick up of Vassilis Spanoulis and he could be a good role player or maybe even starter in the future. Of course we traded Rudy Gay and Stro for Battier, which is the only off season move I argue with. However, we gained a balanced offensive and defensive player in return. Gay was supposed to be a good rookie and I was angered by the move along with our only other pf. The signing of Wells was obviously a great!
Re: Rate your team's off-season 9/10. We filled our pg need, and our Centre need. Colangelo did a great job by getting lots of depth and role players as well. Hey...10/10 is hard to get from me.
Re: Rate your team's off-season Pretty bad for the Pistons...we tried to improve our bench:We added Ronald Murray, and we got back Super Dupe...nothing really to talk about...with those pick ups...and of course the big bad Ben Wallace leaving Detroit really killed us...but we got Nazr Mohammed - a solid center.I'll give em a C+

You dont understand. I saw 70 raptors games. I know. Mike James screwed our offense up..big time. He shot basically every possession down the stretch, and he was just a ball hog. He just played to boost his numbers up so he could get a contract. He never passed at all in key situations. 20 ppg isnt that big of a loss when you consider that TJ will give you 15 points a game, and he will actually spread the ball around, get others involved, and run our fast break offense. We were 2nd in the League in ppg last year, so we can afford to lose some of that. We will still have a great offense, and I guarentee you that it will be more efficient (ppg doesn't tell the whole story of an offense). We definately werent the 2nd best offensive team last year..Now..to Anthony Parker. Do you think we have him starting over Fred Jones for a reason? The guy is awesome. I dont care what he did in the League before..he is much improved now. He's an awesome defender, great shooter, scorer, rebounder, passer...he does it all, and he will be a great role player for us. On Realgm.com in the Raps forum, Anthony was the leading vote-getter on a poll for the Raps 2nd best scorer for next season. Youve never seen him play, so dont assume.
Re: Rate your team's off-season Phoenix wasn't too good, but it wasn't bad either. We didn't do too much from what I know.
Re: Rate your team's off-season it seems memphis did well, but we lost booby jackson and ren who both played good D, also hometown native Burks went to the Heat, I say B+ even
Re: Rate your team's off-season As Reppin said, not that great. Tayshaun will improve, but Rasheed and Rip aren't getting any better.
Re: Rate your team's off-season C+They didn't do too much, which could be a good thing since they didn't screw up. They got a good back-up for Nash which was a big need and with the addition of Jumaine we know we'll have a solid 9. If Jumaine doesen't play well then I think James will...They also added Marks, who might help. I was dissapointed that they didn't go after any young talent in the draft or make a good trade using the picks, trade exception and James Jones to get a good big man but their sit-and-wait tactic worked fine and I think the Suns are a better team for it.
Re: Rate your team's off-season I give Danny Ainge a B+.I loved the draft night trade:- He turned Raef's bad knees and bad play to Theo Ratliff - a true veteran presence, a leader, and a real big man who can protect the basket. Not to mention that Ratliff's huge contract expires 1 year sooner than Raef's huge contract.- He turned Dan Dickau (injury problems, not all that good) into Sebastian Telfair, a young true pass-first up-tempo PG that works hard and has a lot of potential.Sure we could have had Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay with the #7 pick, and both of them will be good player, but with Pierce/Wally/TA/West/Green on the roster, there is no spot for them anyway. We filled our needs and became a better team from this trade. Not to mention we got most likely the steal of the first round in Rajon Rondo. He has a shaky shot, but he's very athletic, a solid playmaker, and a tenacious defender. Leon Powe was a very nice pickup considering where we traded for him at (49th pick I believe). He is a hard working hustler who averaged 20/10 in college. He could be solid. The only reason I didn't give us an A is because Ainge hasn't gotten Paul Pierce some real help yet, like he planned and has been trying to do. I think eventually, by next year anyway, we will figure out which young guys are keepers for the long haul and which ones that will be used as trade bait to get Pierce some true help.

When you lose somebody that puts up 20 a game, its a key loss. And u can say that he took all the shots down the stretch all you want, but when he is making 47% of those shots, u cant complain too much. Im sure u remember the misses ALOT more than u do the makes because the misses are all that u want to remember because u dont like him.And when you say he played to boost his numbers for a contract, that is what you would like to call "ignorant". I guarantee you every single player in the league plays to win. No matter who you say plays for themself, I will not listen to you. As a player, I play to win. I Could care less if I get 30 points and we lose. Its not worth it. And I guarantee you that he felt the same way.Yeah, Anthony Parker can do all those things in the Euro League. When he can come to the NBA and do just as good if not better, then I will believe it. When a player gets ran out of the league and HAS to go to Europe to get minutes, it doesn't impress me too much. He may have gotten better, but how could he not have? He averaged like 2 ppg and didnt play much at all. I dont assume, I just use my brain. And my brain is telling me that when a player cant cut it in the league and they come back later at age 30, that they either wont be good, or not to good for too long.
Re: Rate your team's off-season I give the New Jersey Nets a B-. Here are the reasons why:- Drafted a back-up PG, Marcus Williams, in case Jason Kidd's age/injuries become a problem.- Drafted a talented PF/C, known as Josh Boone.- They did not manage to sign a great PF to replace Jason Collins, so an A is not a grade the Nets received.- Signed Eddie House and Mikki Moore to provide scoring help off the bench.Overall, though the Nets did do some good moves, they did not receive the actual support they needed. The PF spot is what is really holding this team back.
Re: Rate your team's off-season PF/C known as Hasaan Adams? Either you meant Josh Boone or you meant to say SG.

Re: Rate your team's off-season Yeah, Hassan Adams was the PG for the AZ Wildcats. And they would have filled their void at the PF/C spot had Josh Boone not been injured. Great defender/shot blocker which is what NJ needs.

They may have gotten the best pg in the draft. they dropped some dead weight and added on some valuable pieces. Fixed our pg situation and helped out our cap situation. the only thing I wouldn't have liked to see was a trade for a better big man, but I'm ot too disappointed.

Marcus Williams (not the one drafted this year, there is another one - with a lot of potential by the way). Hassan Adams is a Ruben Patterson type of player. Undersized, but a tough player and really a SF.
Re: Rate your team's off-season He was a guard for the Wildcats. I dont know why I put PG right there. I just listed guard up earlier.
