I think we need another post player off the bench, so I would love to have that bench player. I'm hoping T. Rob will be that guy next year. CJ will give us a solid offensive off the bench.

I think Lillard having to play SG is wearing him out.

    I understand your frustration.

The GM should ALWAYS be looking for ways to improve the roster. However, at this point, I think that unless there is a trade that blatantly obviously makes us better, I don't think he should do it.

Dame played very well as a shooting guard with Maynor last year. In fact, I think he played his best ball of his career during that stretch. The thing is, Mo isn't Maynor. They're different types of guards.

I really like TRob, but he's a couple years away from being a consistent contributor from night to night. We have no idea what he'll bring us. I love adding someone like Hawes. Maybe not now, but possibly as a free agent over the summer.

This is a stupid post. 7-19 (what our bench shot tonight.)

He's dropping some impressive numbers this year man. He's going to get paid. I'd give him the full MLE. That might not be enough. Who knows though.

He's been on shit teams his whole career. I think he will be fine to take a cut for a winning franchise

I hope so. I'd love to add him this summer. He's still very young too. I think he's only 25.

When Aldridge came out of the game our offense was shit tonight. Didn't seem to matter that there was bench players or Lillard in there. How much lower would our starters PER be if they played 80% of their minutes without LMA? Our bench players have to do that often and it hurts their productivity.

I'd love to add another great bench option to this team but thats extremely difficult to do without either 1. Giving up a valuable long term assets 2. Acquiring a player on an overpaid contract or 3. Disrupting the chemistry of current players on the team.

So we are likely sticking with the players on the roster. Playoff teams rarely have postseason success from midseason trades, so improvements will need to come from the players already on the team.

That's why I want a bench low post scorer

Can you please actually show that our bench players are statistically more inconsistent than other bench players around the league? You keep posting it over and over without showing if it's actually true.

I agree with you. Last night in the second quarter when the Blazers quickly lost their lead and Detroit went on their run, there were 1-2 starters in the game.

I hate to bring it up but Mo was running the show. Now to be fair Mo was a huge part of the reason we won last night. (In the 4th) But in the first half the combination of players is not working. At some point Terry is going to have to see if Mo and Earl can play together with TRob, Dorrell, and Joel. Earl needs to run the offense with Mo as the SG.

Spurs - Ginobili, Diaw, Belinelli, Mills, Bonner, Ayers. Averaging between 12 and 23 mpg getting 43 ppg, 13+ rebs, almost 12 assists, with all but Ayers shooting over 46% from the field and 4 of those players over 37% from '3'.

Heat - Allen, Beasley, Cole, Anderson, Mason, Lewis, Haslem. Haslem has started 6 games so for the sake of illustration, I'll take him out. The rest play between 13-25 minutes per game getting 45 ppg, 17 rebs, 9 assists with everyone shooting over 45% except Lewis with two over 54%. Beasley, Allen, Cole and Mason all shooting 40% or better from '3'.

Nuggets - Robinson, Hamilton, Mozgov, Miller, Arthur and Fournier. Between 12 and 20 mipg. 44 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 assists. Robinson shoots only 40% but everyone else outside of Fournier ranges from 43-53%. Robinson, Hamilton and Miller all shoot over 38% from '3'.

Mavericks - Carter, Blair, Crowder, Mekel. Between 12-24 mpg. 28 ppg, 14 rebs and 7 assists. Carter and Mekel are not shooting well at all at 38%. Blair is at 53% and Crowder at 44%. No one is shooting very well from '3' with Crowder the best at 36%.

Clippers - Crawford, Collison, Hollins, Green, Jamison and Barnes. Now these stats are a little inflated because Green, Jamison and Barnes have only played in half the games or less so adding stats cumulatively is misrepresentative but you get the idea. 40 ppg, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Outside of Hollins (68%) who only plays 9 mpg, the rest of the bench is shooting terribly with only Crawford (43%) and Collison (42%) over the 40% mark. Both of them are around 36% from '3' and everyone else is worse.

Blazers - Williams, Robinson, Wright, Freeland. Portland is the only team of those listed to have the starters start every game. (Awesome!) Bench ranging from 11-25 mpg with 23 ppg, 11.5 rebs and 6.4 assists. Shooting .418 Fg% and .384% from '3'.

Nice percentage from '3' but trailing a little to a lot in almost every other category. The starters have been amazing and are certainly better than any other teams above or arguably in the rest of the NBA. They have to be because they are at a deficit anytime they are not on the court.

Sorry, but this shows that our bench doesn't score as much as other benches, but shoots as well from 3. In no way does it say they are any less ore more consistent as other benches.

No apology needed. It was more showing production. Stats show the Blazers are fairly consistent. Sadly, it is consistently unproductive. Just comparative information as much as anything.

I was wrong. NB3 was right. The bench does need scoring, and pronto. A great win tonight against OKC, but the bench needs a spark. Hopefully CJ gives them that spark.

4-14 shooting for 9 points tonight isn't going to cut it in the long run.

A great game to watch, a great win by the Blazers, but constructive criticism isn't the same as being constantly negative, and NB3 was offering constructive criticism in this thread.
