There's like 10 things wrong with this concentration of talent argument, mostly because it's not accurate. You're correct that there is more talent per age class in the NCAAs. But players can play more than four years in Europe. This means both that the talent they have that doesn't jump sticks around and is not artificially displaced each season. It also means that players continue to hone their skills and, more importantly, grow into the paint eating giants that are so lacking in the NCAA. Indeed, many of those star NCAA players who are borderline NBA prospects go to Europe after college. I don't see how talent-by-class means anything when judging the concentration of talent of a league.

It's hard to see a team of Noah, Horford, and Brewer having a tough time with the European teams.

Or the UCLA team with Russell Westbrook, Keven Love, Jru Holiday, and Darrin Collison.

Or the Kentucky team with Anthony Davis, MKG, Terrence Jones and our own Marquis Teague.

    Thanks, SST...a pretty fair overview.

I get that he's a below-the-rim player, but believe that his high skill levels and BBIQ will balance this. However, as Stacy King would say, he definitely needs to "get in the weight room."

Yeah, he definitely needs some muscle. As to the rim thing I guess it depends on the definition. I don't see him launching from the free throw line a la Jordan or LBJ but I think Walton wouldn't regularly be criticizing him with one of his derisive Throw it Down, Big Man one-liners either. I think he is very capable of finishing strong especially if he puts on the aforementioned muscle. It also depends on whether is a contact-adverse Euro or he can adapt to a more physical game. I believe Thibs would have his players beat the kid with pillowcases filled with soap bars as he drives and hold his family hostage with burlap bags over their heads with threats to execute one at a time for every no bump no nudge no pressure weak defensive slip up -- just to toughen him up -- so if he is ever going to learn to be a banger he will be landing in the right system.

Bulls Meet With Nikola Mirotic, Hoping For Buyout For 14-15 Season

Officials from the Chicago Bulls met with Nikola Mirotic on Saturday.

The Bulls are doing everything they can to bring Mirotic to the NBA for the 14-15 season, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Mirotic is having another excellent season for Real Madrid in the Euroleague and Spanish ACB.

ESPN is easy to detest. Stein's source is the guys from Hoopshype, who reported it earlier in the day. Why not just say that?

EDIT: WHOOPS! From Stein's article, "HoopsHype.com was the first to report over the weekend that Bulls officials arranged a Saturday sit-down with Real Madrid forward Nikola Mirotic."

Nikola Mirotic has real concerns these days, but those have nothing to do with buying out his contract with Real Madrid. Rather, his concerns center on his team’s future makeup.

Mirotic has told several confidantes that he is worried that the Bulls will start to let the team hit the skids by allowing key players to leave via free agency, forcing him to go through a rebuilding program that he wants no part of.

“Nikola is worried that the Bulls are going to lose what they have,” said a league source. “He doesn’t want to go through rebuilding.”

First Rose and now Mirotic does not want to go through rebuilding.
