He has power, can play third and is good off the bench.

Can also play 1B and isn't going to break the budget. Sooner or later, the Yankees have got to start hedging their bets. The daily news article about Anna being in the mix now makes me see a platoon of Reynolds/Johnson at 3B and as a fall back Anna at 2B.

So we would potentially have a infield roster of:
    Tex
    Anna
    Jeter
    Ryan
    Reynolds
    Johnson
    Nunez with option

    agree -

Good power from the right side, can be used at 3b,1b,dh .....and he didn't embarrass himself when used as an emergency 2bman. He also surprisingly good hands when he did play 1b/ 3b,

I would try and bring him back depending on his asking price.

Signing Reynolds would be a good move, surprised at Chavez though, moved over to Arizona last season to be at home, now a free agent.

I think I would rather have Jeff Baker. Guy rakes lefty pitchers and doesn't strike out like Reynolds does. Yankees have known interest in him. I preferred a full time 2nd or 3rd baseman but doesn't look like I will get my wish.

    ...jetes, I think maybe part of the reason/s the Yanx may be shy about signing a full time 3Bman is that ;

    1. they simply don't know what the future holds for ARod so they don't want to commit to a long term deal. and/or
    2. because of impending lawsuits, they may not want to appear to have excluded ARod from their future by signing a full time 3Bman and thus giving ARod's lawyers something to point to as proof of the Yanx trying to rid themselves of him.
    ...just my 2 cents.

59, I do agree with you so I wish they could have found a full time 2nd baseman. I like Roberts but he probably will be on the DL after about 50 games. I was hoping for Infante but understand why they didn't want to commit 4 years. I just hope next season doesn't turn out like last season with a bunch of guys who were cut by other teams starting for the Yankees.

The reason I'd lean more towards Reynolds is because he can also back up Tex at 1B.

...yeah, like a lot of others, I was hoping for Infante too. If I had to guess, after ARod's suspension verdict they may pull off a trade for a better 3Bman. I'd rather not see Reynolds at 3B while striking out 200 times.
...then again, 2B probably needs to be manned by the same player ever day since the SS & 2Bman need to be in sync and familiar with each other on DP balls and covering 2B on steals, etc.

...I'm OK with the offense as it stands and I'm hoping they can snag Tanaka but there's gonna be a lot of teams trying to get him also...if the Yanx don't get him, I think he'll end up in Texas with Darvish.
...any additions after Tanaka would be a bonus IMO.
