I don't see how this is a fan created trade thread. It's about an actual rumor.

Ewww no thanks. Philly lets teams score a ton on purpose, thats how we got 136. They want their players to get fast easy shots. Turner is fools gold. Basically all those Philly players are, their stats mean nothing this year. Look at what they did 2 years ago, not impressive. CJ is our most valuable asset outside our starters, I’d hold on to him.

I’d of course give up Freeland for Asik if Asik would be happy with Freelands role. I don’t think I’d give up Freeland for an offensive player such as Spencer Hawes. We have far and away the best scoring offense in the league, this team desperately needs defensive players. Freeland is our only alternative to Robin and last night is not the last time Robin will pickup fouls. A center anchoring a defense is prone to fouls.

Great point, that makes a lot of sense and seems exactly like something Olshey would do. He probably reached out to Asiks agent as well and said “Hey we don’t have a starting spot but if you can’t find a place starting on another team we’d love to have you as a higher minute backup here.” That was similar to what we did with Mo.

What about when the Blazers signed Rod Strickland as the 15th man, or traded Jermaine Oneal for an All-star? Adding talent in the middle of the season can definitely have a big risk of backfiring. This isn’t fantasy sports. The team has been working together daily since September, bringing an outside person into a group is a risk no matter how talented that individual is.

If Morey gives us Asik for our scrubs I think Portland will have to credit three guys as our GM’s of the year. Neil Olshey, Daryl Morrey, and Billy King.

I think they would just be trying to upgrade assets, the idea being they could flip Asik for more at the February trade deadline or offseason. Houston has a deadline to trade Asik now and will accept less than full value. Philly has the luxury of waiting months to get full value.

Yuck! The guy isn’t that good, he’s playing in one of the most up tempo systems of the last decade just to inflate his stats. If you look at his stats two or three years ago is anyone that interested in him? I’d be very cautious about over paying for good stats on a terrible team.

Agreed. Its kind of funny Houston will supposedly not trade him to a West team but may trade him to a team intend on re-trading him soon.

Hmmm… Yeah I can see that being true. I bet Philly moves Hawes to the highest bidder, they have zero interest in keeping him; so if Meyers and a few players is their best offer they will take it.

Not sure Crabbe has much value and I think he is very promising for a second round pick. I’d throw in Barton for sure although I don’t know if he has any value.

That's a decent point. That team needs a lot of help. Problem is, who do they have to give back?

Morey is creating a "false market" as on GM pointed out.

Trying to create a bidding war. He's like KP, only much more blatant.

Very ballsy yet quite intriguing for a post such as this.

"The Portland Trail Blazers are not involved in any talks centered on acquiring Houston Rockets center Omer Asik via trade, a league source informed CSNNW.com."

If Olshey makes any move before or at the deadline I predict it will be for a 6 man, 20pt 2 guard that is taller than Mo, CJ or Dame. Dame is a pure pt guard, All 3 are undersized at the 2 spot. I think Leonard and Barton should play in Idaho for a stretch and let Claver suit up for defense. Watson and Claver are above average defenders.

I do think a player like CJ would look better playing along side a player like Lin rather then Mo.

If morey is indeed trying to create a dalse market, this could just be another move towards that.

Pekovic scored 15 over his season average tonight. Wouldn't hurt to have more interior presence on the roster.

Thats what hurt the blazers tonight. Love always put up numbers like this against Portland, but Pek going off the way he did really put this team in a hole early.

The Wolves still suck, despite what Fez will have you believe. They were the better team tonight, and they deserved to win. We're 22-5, and finished the road trip 3-1. Kevin Love is still a stat whore on a shitty team, and LA is still the superior PF. Let the rubes have their fun now, cause they'll be watching us in April and beyond

I don't care who we trade for, but defense on our bench regardless of position needs to be upgraded.
C.J. will be able to play soon, Free Mo Williams!

Of course, none was better than The Dessert Fox, Raymond Felton.
