I think Olshey and Allen were realistic this summer. They revamped with the little they had left. I don't think they thought they would ever compete for the top spots.

Now that we've shown how far we've come with a lackluster bench, I don't think Olshey would think twice about bringing pieces in now.

If we make it past round one, it only helps with keeping Aldridge. And who knows, maybe adding a decent bench can have this team make it over the hump and win the whole damn thing!?

I haven't clicked the O-Live link, but LaMarcus was saying the same thing after the Cleveland game. In his interview he was saying the defensive effort wasn't going to cut it against the T-Pups. He was right.

It's good the vets are calling out the team for effort. They are going to get some rest this week, hopefully get some practice time, and get refocused. It's all good.

This is a real dumb statement: "They basically showed the league how to destroy us". I think you are wrong, we simply played an awful 1st half and could not recover, we were tired and missed a ton of shots we usually make and yes out defensive effort sucked.

Phoenix also showed the league, as did Dallas and Houston. Sure made everyone beat the Blazers, didn't it?

Another 2-6 prediction from you is welcomed.

Oh come on. MM has a point; Carlito did actually post something legitimately, and we did jump down his throat over it. I'll work to improve my posting habits if it'll get MM to stop bringing up posters more than the Blazers.

Minny exposed our dead legs, and even with dead legs, it was all they could do to hang on to win at the end. It'll take more than scouting to beat Portland once our shooters get some rest.

Whose fault is it that people don't take what carlito seriously? Notice that he wasn't posting much (if at all) during most of the season. But all the sudden they have a few so-so wins and a horrible loss, and he's trolling again.

There's a difference between someone going "you know, the teams defense is crappy, and they need to work on it" and "I told you all this was gonna happen! I was totally right, and you all are bunch of homers who can't see reality to save your lives!
Why didn't you believe me! I told you I'd shoot...I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs! A fly marrying a bumblebee...."

Reputations are earned for a reason.

That's the thing. When you are a shooter, you need your legs to push the shot out. Most the shots all were short. Even Aldridge's shots in the first half were like 6" short to his normal shot.

So as the rubes celebrate, they almost lost the game on a very tired team.

This is what I'm thinking, the rep carries with it the reaction it's going to illicit. If someone like Mags starts a thread like this, then it'll be probably a much more basketball oriented discussion. If it's someone like Carlito or OdenIsStillGod, it'll be "mocked". And those posters really have nothing to gripe about, because it's the reputation they presented, whether "realistic" or not in actuality, it doesn't matter.

Snap, post #4000 and it's got big words and such.

True, but I think the overall point here is that none of us involved are innocent. Carlito concern trolls a thread, people overreact (if they were smart, they'd un-hijack the conversation, or ignore him), and MM starts having flashbacks to the pitchfork and torch mobs from Frankenstein.

He posted a tweet about a Blazer. That has nothing to do with taking him seriously or not.

For his efforts, he was called leach, mocked with pictures, etc.

If it were, I'd be most happy, believe me. I've been the most vocal user of the Ignore list on the forum.
