What if Olshey could trade Mo, Barton and Claver for Rubio. Would you do it? There are advantages and disadvantages in this deal. Advantages: 1.) Rubio is an assist machine that can run an offense. 2.) Rubio is a pretty good defender, mainly disrupting passing lanes. 3.) Rubio can play well with the shooters theme, especially for players like CJ and Dame now being able to play off the ball. Disadvantages: 1.) he can't hit the broadside of the barn. 2.) he really sucks at shooting. 3.) did I mention how horrible he shoots? So the trade off would be playmaker that can't shoot, but able to defend well vs. dribbler that shoots somewhat well and turns the ball over.
Since Minny sees him as a cornerstone, we aren't getting him for that cheap. Also, if the deal was that he was never to take a shot ever in his Blazer career, then he can have the 2nd unit.
Minnesota only trades Rubio if Lillard (who they would need if they trade Rubio), Aldridge (who they don't need), or Batum + filler. And in your trade proposal we keep Lillard? What makes you think Rubio would want to come off the bench for Portland?
Rubio isn't getting traded. Jesus no wonder people make fun of blazer fans. Two weeks ago he was the pun of many jokes around here.
Why not just bring back Sergio? Ricky plays better defense than Sergio, but he's basically the same player. He's a fun player to watch, but I don't want him on the Blazers.
Okay mags that trade is nowhere near realistic and the wolves aren't trading someone they consider to be a franchise guard. End of story Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Lets make it a three way trade and also get Anthony Davis here. Step1 Send out Mo Williams, Meyers Leonard, Barton, Claver, and Freeland. Step2 ????? Step3 Blazers get Ricky Rubio and Antony Davis. Should be easy enough.
Okay, forget that the trade proposal doesn't make any sense at all for the TWolves, but ignoring that, Rubio just isn't a guy that I'd build around. Shooting is an essential NBA skill and that dude just doesn't have it. He's fun to watch, makes great plays and is a real pickpocket on defense, but deny him the drive and he's totally useless on offense.
Sweet. Should we put together a video of Lillard raining threes and slicing up the Minny defense last night? The T'Wolves caught the Blazers flat on the end of a tough 4 games in 5 nights road trip. Whoopty-stinking-doo.
First of all, Rubio is an overrated defender. He plays the passing lanes well and gets steals. His man on man defense is pathetic, as you saw Lillard walk by him numerous times once Lillard decided to drive the ball. And there is no way Minny does that trade. And if I wanted a pass first point guard, I'd look at Rondo long before Rubio. Rubio is clearly overrated.
