    9.5=AMAZING

    This is Martin Scorsese's new GoodFellas, an outrageous & funny crime epic with stock swindlers subbing for gangsters.

    THE VERDICT

    Martin Scorsese has made a GoodFellas for a new generation of filmgoers in The Wolf of Wall Street, another blackly comic crime epic about a very different kind of outlaw: the renegade capitalist. This is the best pairing of Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio to date.

    +Hilarious dark comedy.
    +Absurdly excessive in every way.
    +Great performances across the board.
    +Scorsese's best, most energetic film in years.
    – Underdeveloped female characters.

    This is a real piece of trash, from what I've read.

    IGN isn't a website I usually think of when looking for movie reviews, but Rotten Tomatoes has it at critics 77%, audience 81%. I'll probably go see it eventually.

    Dallas Buyers Club was really good. IMO Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto gave Oscar worthy performances.

    Saw it today, and it was excellent, except that I couldn't shake the feeling that it was "Goodfellas II." The plot structure, arc, voiceovers, and tale were all essentially the same. Now, Goodfellas was a great movie, so it is hard to complain, but there was a deja-vu all over again feeling to Wolf for me.

    Agreed. I'm really excited with new Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey HBO show 'True Detectives' in couple weeks.

    Rented it, entertaining but nothing spectacular about it. Long as hell for some reason.

    Watched it half last night and half this morning. I can't imagine seeing it in a theater unless you like getting your money's worth.

    It was kind of like rich people porn, I admit I was jealous. I liked the Countach stuff though, thought it looked like a kit car, after seeing what they did I hope so.
