Eh, not the best game we have played. We didn't run all night, we weren't setting up any type of offense and we ended up throwing up bad shots, defense was solid for most of the game but not the last 12-15 minutes. Paul Pierce In the 3rd quarter, he went limping to the locker room. But don't worry. They called it a left hip contusion, but he'll be alright. Doc said not to worry. Wally Szczerbiak Nice to know that he didn't play @ Toronto due to rest. He was just taking it slow and not rushing back right into a back-to-back. He also said he hasn't missed any practices all camp, so that's good. But tonight Wally was great. He shot the ball extremely well and he put in 20-24 points. Ryan Gomes Gomes played the best of any Celtic tonight. He got the Tommy Award, and he really deserved it. He scored over 10 points, he ran, he got 3 steals, he pulled down boards. You know, typical Ryan Gomes. Damn, he's so solid. Sebastian Telfair His stat line was very nice: 16 points and 7 assists. Bassy played a good game, once again, and he turned the ball over a bit less. He made a few excellent plays, especially that touch pass to Gomes on the break. Delonte West Welcome back! Delonte did not shoot well at all tonight, but whatever. He hustled, made a few nice defensive plays, and he was moving pretty well out there. He'll get back into the swing of things. It was nice to see him out on the floor. Theo Ratliff I remember hearing a report last night that Theo could be out for a while, but that was apparently false. He started tonight, was very active, and got 2 goaltends. One was a clean block. He also pulled down a couple rebounds and even hit an 18 foot jumper (don't expect that a lot). Al Jefferson Al was alright. Offensively, he scored 6-8 points and he forced a couple shots, but overall he was OK. He had 2 excellent blocks. I don't know what his rebounding total was but he pulled down a few. I would like to see him do more on the block. Rajon Rondo He didn't score 29 points and hit a 3 to force OT tonight, but Rajon Rondo showed up once again! I am so damn impressed with this kid it's not even funny. He made some EXCELLENT, heady plays, he scored 8-10 points, he grabbed at least 5 boards, assist numbers were around 5-6. He made some excellent back-door passes, he was all over the ball defensively, and twice he made some excellent plays by throwing it off the defenders foot when he was falling out of bounds. He also made a hail mary shot from 15 feet at the shot block buzzer (he wasn't even really looking at the basket when he did it). Rondo showed up again folks. Kendrick Perkins Perk was ok tonight. He didn't do anything particularly bad, but nothing particularly good either. He made a couple nice plays, but overall, an average performance. Tony Allen Didn't impress me at all tonight. He dribbled to much, threw up some terrible shots in the lane, and he didn't do anything special defensively. He had one sick crossover which led him to getting an and-1 layup, but he really didn't have a great game. People over at CelticsBlog hate him now, but I'm not giving up on TA at all. Gerald Green Only played 3-4 minutes tonight. When he was in there he almost threw down a sick 1-handed slam over 3 Cavs, but he missed. Then he came back and got swatted pretty bad. I don't think he scored. But one thing that made me mad: in the 4th quarter, Doc told Gerald to go to the scorers table to go in. Then, when it was time to go in, HE CALLED HIM BACK TO THE BENCH and put Ray in. Nothing against Ray, but don't do that to the kid. He got no time tonight. Brian Scalabrine I don't like him at all. He played a little, but did nothing well as usual. He missed a layup again off a nice feed from either Rondo or Telfair. I don't like him at all. Kevin Pittsnogle, Allan Ray Both got a few minutes. Pitts hit a long jumper and the crowd loved it, Ray hit a jumper as well and made an excellent lay-down pass to Scal. O, Powe, and Akingbala didn't play. Luke Jackson was at shootaround today, and he was at the game and in uniform on the bench, but he didn't play either. Tuesday night in New York, I want to see more running from this team, and I also want to get a little look at Luke Jackson and Leon Powe. I also want Gerald Green to play more than 3-4 minutes.
No they didn't try hard. We just had a big let-dwon from the last game. Good review CB32. I watched the game as well and agree w/ everything you said.
