Nope. Not really. He said we're in a tier below OKC. He said we're in the running for 2nd best on the west, but he didn't say that we're any better than SA, GS, LAC, etc. Kenny disagreed with him, but Shaq was the one who has our back. Chuck also said there's no way we win against OKC on Tuesday.

Chuck put us below the Clips. He said we were a tier below the 2nd tier, IRRC. Bottom line is, until we win in the playoffs, we're going to have naysayers. Hell, I was one through November, and this is my favorite team regardless of sport. Just keep winning, and the reviews will take care of themselves.
Everything Chuck said was right, except when he said the Clippers will win this game. Some of you think that telling the truth is talking shit, just because you don't like the truth. Nothing he said was really even that bad. We are a notch below OKC, is that really talking shit? We are a jump shooting team, is that talking shit? This is why people call Blazers fans soccer moms. My God.
The issue, as you are well aware, is not the classifying of the Blazers as a jump-shooting team (which they clearly are), but the constant tired assertion that jump-shooting teams are necessarily and by definition inferior to those which he classifies as not jump-shooting teams. By the way, I'm sure you could have made the same point without couching it in such hostility toward those who hold a different perspective than you do. These kinds of posts are why people call you a troll.
And there in lies the crux of the issue. I think the biggest issue fans have with someone coming in and saying something 'negative' about the team, isn't that they said something negative, it's that they said it while being condescending or arrogant. like "well, when the team comes crashing back to reality, you'll see I was right". Or "well, I'll just keep quiet because the defense is just perfectly fine!" Snarky comments receive snarky responses. I don't think any of us thinks that the teams defense is good enough. Most of us have been saying the bench needs to be more productive, and don't want the starters to wear out by seasons end. But I don't think any of us need to have someone come in and call fans "soccer moms" (which is just a lazy way of trying to troll fans), or be mock outrage at comments or things people actually never say. Or hyperbole a belief of a small portion of the fan base, and project it onto the whole. What do you expect to happen? The "I told you so's" of the board seem to only be in it for themselves. Waiting to be proven correct (that the team isn't going to maintain their record), or just in here because they for some perverse reason, get their jollies off by trolling fans, are ruining the fun of the board. Sometimes it is like certain fans enjoy being a character more than they enjoy watching the team. Or refuse to believe that they are wrong about something. There's a reason why certain fans, and I use that term loosely, are treated the way they are. And it has nothing to do with them doling out a little 'reality', and everything to do with how much of an ass hole they are about their opinions. Not every fans who is pessimistic about the team is called a troll. Just the ones who are trolls.
