    Is not an easy one.

Washington, Tampa Bay, Florida, Pittsburgh and Toronto.

Only Florida is a game you say we clearly are the better team and should win. We need to get 4 out of 10 points at least. Anything less and we risk falling far behind in the race for the playoffs.

Staal and Cally will travel with the team, so maybe they are close. Staal has been skating so maybe he will be back soon. cally I would think 2 more weeks, but who knows.

We're not going to fall far from the PO race from a 5gm span this early in the season, but we do need to keep pace to make our lives easier down the road. Philly, who we're tied with for 3rd, has a terrible road trip coming up as well, going to EDM, then VAN, CGY, COL, PHO and ending in NJ. That is a lot of miles.

If we really struggle and get 2 points on this trip, and come back 6 points out, that is not good. Of course there would be time left, but a 1-4 trip would put us in an awful spot to truly believe we will make the playoffs.

And BTW...we are 1/2 way into the season fella. It is not early season anymore. I get your thing is nothing matters until it is lose and go home, but I disagree if overall you have played like crap and are under .500. You fall 6 points out of the playoffs with 38 or so games left, that is not a great place to be. No one wants to be sitting here in late March trying to sqeeze in at the bottom like every season outside of two years ago. On top of that, if we are crappy on this trip, what would make anyone believe this team would turn it around? Because we beat a terrible Wild team and the Leafs in a SO?

We need to show some life on this trip to continue to feel good after the last two games. We get whipped at Wash and TB and the goodness is gone.

How the F do you get 6pts out if we go 1-4?

Let's break this down since you obviously didn't:

    * TODAY, we have 38pts, tied with PHI for 3rd and a PO spot, 1pt ahead of NJ and 2pts ahead of CLB
    * If we get 2pts out of this 5gm road trip, we would come back with 40pts
    * To be at 40pts and 6pts outs that means 1 of PHI, NJ or CLB have to be at 46pts. For that to happen, either;

    A. Philly would have to get 8pts in the same time span, on an even worse road trip
    B. NJ would have to get 9pts in the same time span
    C. CLB would have to sweep the next 5gms and get 10pts

Since PHI, NJ and CLB are all basically .500 teams, i don't see any of them building a 6pt lead on us. So we could go 1-4 and still be in a very similar position we are today.

We are tied now. If Philly gets 8 we are 6 out. Maybe they get 10. Maybe NJ gets 10. Maybe they get 4. Of course we COULD go 1-4 and be in the same spot as today. We could also go 1-4 and be 6 back. WHO KNOWS.

The point is we need to play well. I know it doesn't matter until game 82, but if we continue to play like a pile of shit, I don't think anyone will feel good about our chances to do anything this season.

You are such a piece of garbage 31. All you do on these boards is post to argue. You do it non-stop. It is way you are a shithead. That is all you do. Post to argue and start fights with people. The list is long.

I still maintain you need a punch in the face, maybe that will stop you from being a piece a shit. But all you do is sit behind a keyboard and argue with people on a Ranger board. My lord you are trash dude...LOL.

If 31 would stop being rude and understand that people can disagree without being aholes, then we would be fine. He does not understand that concept though, so he will continue to have issues. He is like a little kid. Oh you disagree with me, okay let me be rude and talk down to you then maybe you will understand since no way two people can simply disagree.

Let me break this down since obviously he didn't. He is a rude ass. We all know it in here. Is what it is.

Come on Al, we agree somewhat often. Outside of the little back and forth "fun" we had on the Torts thing, you and I are on the same page a decent amount of the time.

As for 31, is what it is. If the guy would just learn to talk to people and understand people can disagree and someone doesn't have to be wrong for disagreeing, we'd all be fine. He doesn't understand that, so if you disagree with him his automatic response is to talk down, be rude, and set out to prove you wrong at all costs. Not sure why he is that way, but so be it. It is over and done with...I have moved on.

    Tis the season...

I kid I kid... for the most part I enjoy very much this board and the members. Wish We had some new blood and that the rangers were playing better so it's not all gloom and doom

I agree there. When the Rangers are struggling this board is all negative and gloom and doom. Hard not to be sometimes though, but it gets bad quickly for sure. Such is the life of a NYR fan I guess...:).

I think we would all feel better if Nash and Stepan would remove their heads from their asses and start playing better so this team could move towards 6-10 games over .500.

Maybe they both need to sit out with "sore asses" like Brassard so the trainer can physically remove their heads from there. Brassard has played better since he sat out a game and had that procedure done.

I'm hoping for a 2-2-1 road trip. That's about right, considering they
    are a .500 team. Anything better is a +.
Agree. When is Nash and Stepan going to be consistent day in , day out? IT'S TIME.

Nash should definitely been playing better as he should be one of the best players in the league, but you cannot expect the same out of Stepan. He's simply not a 1st line player. Right now he's playing at a 50pt pace, which is about in line with what you should expect from him, +/- a few points. If he ends the year @ 55-60pts i think you gotta be very happy with his year. In the right deal, i wouldn't be afraid to trade him but the lack of depth at C would be an issue.

Both players have been disapointing for different reasons. Nash definitely seems tentative and afraid, somewhat understandable given his recent concussion history

Alot of us were seduced by Stepan last year with Nash playing at a high level. I agree he is simply not a 1st line center which is ok as he is a really good #2 but the problem is this team needs a #1
