tsn1200here in ottawa is saying a deal has been reached pending physicals. Apparently its

    Zotto
    Hagelin

    For

    Methot
    Greening
    Stone

I'm listening to this station, heard nothing. Seems like a terrible deal. Stone has insane numbers in junior and his AHL numbers are good. I can see him in a deal for MDZ but not with Hagelin.

Thats not a bad deal. Methot is decent, Stone is a good prospect with size and Greening for the 3rd line. Too bad theyd lose Hagelin though.

That deal sucks. I wouldn't trade Hagelin alone for all three of those guys.

The Rangers are believed to be “demanding” Marc Methot from the Ottawa Senators in any potential deal for Michael Del Zotto. (Ottawa Sun)

The Rangers won’t get Methot but may be able to get Patrick Wiercicoch. Weircioch has been a scratch lately but has “upside potential. (Ottawa Sun)

The Leafs, Sharks and Avs are interested in Del Zotto but the Rangers may have to change their asking price. (Ottawa Sun)

A league executive says that Del Zotto’s value has gone down and that he isn’t worth what he was earlier in the year. (Ottawa Sun)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mehot is averaging 21:31 per game for Ottawa this season. He is signed through next season at $3 million.

Weircioch, 23, is averaging over 17 minutes per game and has two goals and 11 assists. He was a second round pick in 2008. He is signed for two more seasons at $2 million

I'm telling you, a deal is coming soon. Maybe even this week. Way too much smoke while we continue to struggle. Something will happen real soon.

Stone hurt the Rangers a few years ago when he came up. The only issue i have with losing Hagelin would be team quickness would be almost nothing without him.

Love that bit about his value being lower than what it was earlier this year. Good thing we just scratched him over and over instead of dealing him when we had the chance.

BTW...this line angers me bigtime. We should have made a move earlier, and that falls right at the feet of lazy Sather:

Pisses me off, and shows why Sather is a joke. Comical...let's scratch him, lower his value, and then deal him. RETIRE OLD MAN.

If this is legit, not happy about it. Don't want to give up Hags for this kind of return. And again, WHERE ARE THE GOALS??

Methot could be an insurance against not re-signing Girardi and losing Staal eventually. He's a good shutdown type so that's one reason they may really want him. DZ may or may not get better on a new team, he may continue to struggle and never reach his 'potential'. So to me it would be trading him for Greening and Stone and trading Hagelin for Methot. Stone is someone who could make this roster next year, even though i've read his skating isn't all that great, he has good size and skill. Greening is what he is but is an upgrade over the Pyatts of the world.

For the patience crowd. Look at Steen's career. He hardly was impressive in many of his NHL seasons. Says volume about what a supporting cast and chemistry can do.

I can no longer tolerate MDZ not being able to take a pass cleanly, fumbling the puck at the blueline on the PP and not being able to hit the net. He has been in the league long enough. This is who he is.

And now he is out with a concussion dump. Crazy really. If you don't get concussed in hockey these days you should feel lucky.

And I agree Mess. I am done also. I have been for a while, but I admit now it eats at me every time I see him miss a pass, or miss the net, or get beaten in the corner for a puck. I want him gone if we can get a solid return...and honestly I think Sather and AV feel the same way. I personally don't see anyway Sather re-signs MDZ this summer anyway, so if we get a good solid offer we should jump, and I think we will. MDZ will be gone within 2 weeks, or worst case in Jan, I really feel that will happen.

I agree, I don't like that deal either. I would give up Hags with MDZ, but we need more return than that. And the dmen are L's as well (Methot and Wier). We want R shooters on D.

Stone can maybe be a 2nd line winger, but that is no lock. And Greening is a 4th line guy who can score maybe 10 or so goals.

Not sure I see the upside to deal MDZ and Hags for that package.

That deal sucks. Method is a bum ms Hagelin is better than Greening. Who cares about Stone, he won't help this team... Has to be troll garbage.

There is no reason to trade Hags unless you are getting a better return than that. Pass

If this is a legit trade then we are really in trouble as this trade sucks for us and that means the only thing sather did well is now gone also.:banghead::banghead::banghead:
