Whos the MJ of our era? Who to you is the athlete that has made the absolute most impact? My choice is Kobe BryantKobe just doesn't stop working at his game, I could tell the only reason he hits jumpers so easily is the fact that he works on them 24/7 he doesn't quit at his game and is very fit as an athelete. Though he may get older later on, im sure he will still dominate. The only thing that will make him for sure the MJ of our era is if he wins a title with his current Lakers.
Well, it's easily Kobe, next LeBron...I don't see anyone ever matching him unless LeBron somehow turns into an elite defender but we'll see.
Its obviously Kobe or LeBronLeBron has shown a huge upside in his future. HE does it all he rebounds and is a very unselfish player and still scores alot. He carries his team night in and night out.Kobe has shown he can take over any stiuation and is unstoppable. He plays good D too. Probably the best clutch player.
LeBron James is not even close to being an MJ yet. I consider DWade more similar to MJ than LeBron. Dwyane Wade does new things that no one has ever seen before. It's very entertaining. I think LeBron would be more of a Magic Johnson type player. There are both good passers and they are around 6'9''.
many people would say Duncan, Shaq ect... Kobe didnt make what we would say a "team impact" but defintely an impact worth considering. Shaq and Duncan both changed up their teams and won titles with them

just because they play similiar to him? I meant who is like MJ in the terms of changing the game? Duncan and Shaq could be inserted their and im sure many more could
Oh ok I understand what you mean. I was saying that Kobe and Dwyane play similarly to MJ and you said Shaq and TD changed the game. I agree on Shaq but how did Tim Duncan change the game?
I think it too early to put the younger guys in that category. In terms of who our MJ will be, its safe to say LeBron and DWade will definately be in the running

They have been in the league for only 3 years and this will be their 4th. How many times do I have to say LeBron plays like Magic.

Notice how I said you cant put them there now, but in a few years they will be our MJs. And LeBron does not play like Magic. People say that because he is unselfish to a degree past that of your normal scorer, but if you really watched him play you'd see there is almost no similarity. Magic didn't take fadeaways from 20, pull up threes, dunk in traffic. Just because both can pass flashy doesn't mean they play alike.
The fact is out of players in the NBA today there is NO player who's had a greater one over the course of his career than Shaquille O'Neal. He literally changed the game. MJ did that as well. Shaq gets the nod out of the league today.
I wouldn't say Shaq changed the game but yeah, he has been the NBA's biggest star since MJ. He'd pretty much be it in that respect.

MR bankshot, Mr Fundamentals, Mr 3 titles in 7 years did nothing to change the game? What? He made it popular to be fundamentally sound again, if nothing else!MJ didn't just change the game he changed everything. Endorsements, charisma, style. I dont think anyplayers now can havce the same effect. Lebron may have a load of endorsements but he's just following what MJ staarted (yes I kow others did b4 my, but not to the same extent). Playing style Kobe is VERY similar, Dwade Carried his team in the finals, that was Jordanesque.
Kobe's game imo is much more diverse. He has more offensive options then MJ ever had. I'm going with d-wade because this season especially he reminds of MJ before he got his fadeaway onsong. The treatment by the officials towards both of them are similar also.

After he started playing like a robot, has thier been a ton of little kids around trying to work on thier footwork in the post and trying to his bank shots from outside? No, they are trying to jump over people and dribble around people. Yes, Duncan is one of the greatest players we've watched, but in no means has he revolutionized the game. If any one player of this generation that has changed it emmensly, it would have to be Allen Iverson. He has made it more of a one on one game. He has made streetball somewhat relivent. No one wanted to use crossovers over and over and over again until Iverson. No one wanted to where sleeves and fingerbands and headbands until Iverson started wearing them. You didnt see a ton of players that had cornrolls in the 90's until Iverson started wearing them. Now, they are all over the game. Hell, even Vladamir Radmonavic had his take on cornrolls somewhat back in Seattle. If your looking for your Michael Jordan of this era as in the person who revolutionized the game, it'd be Allen Iverson. If your looking for it as in terms of talent, position, skill, clutch, and play, it has to be Kobe Bryant. I forgot who posted it, but I remember a video that was posted here with all the similarites between Kobe and MJ. It was crazy, They cut the film where MJ started something and Kobe finished it exactly the same way. Kobe was and has been the "Chosen One" for a long time now. Also, I might add is that Michael Jordan was and is bigger than life. Kobe has that as well. There is only one player that comes to mind other than Kobe and that would be D-Wade. They both play similar. We(or at least I do) just need more film and time to see how Wade develops as a player and a legend. D-Wade doesn't have that "Ohh my gosh" star quality that Jordan and Kobe have. Thats one of the things that holds D-Wade back in this discussion. BTW-If one of ya'll reads this and remembers what video and everything, please post it again in here.

When it's all said and done, KLebron James will have had the better career than Kobe. Kobe is the MJ now because of his defense, buyt Lebron plays most like Jordan on the offensive end.

When I watch LeBron he just seems different because he has the court vision/passing and he's so much bigger. When I see LeBron I don't think of Jordan at all.
