In the paper today with link posted below. There appeared some info on emails between the Yankees President, Randy Levine and Arod. What bothered me was the content of one sent from Levine to Arod referring to Cano being under 200 and "he must not be drinking the juice". How can a President of any MLB team even use that term let alone put it in writing with an email. As most of you know, I am tired of the Arod fiasco but I also can't stand hypocrisy. That the Yankees or any officer of the Yankees would kid about that issue would be unacceptable. Forget Duck Dynasty Denny (or as call it 3D), it just goes to show that Levine is such an idiot. http://nypost.com/2013/12/30/a-rods-reported-emails-with-yankees-president-got-pretty-weird/
From the New Yorker http://nymag.com/news/sports/alex-rodriguez-emails-2014-1/ July 30, 2012 Rodriguez is out with an injury, having fractured his hand five days earlier when hit by a pitch. Levine makes a reference to performance-enhancing drugs that he later refers to as a “bad joke.” Levine: How r u feeing since u left Robby [Cano] under 200, he needs some steroids fast! August 21, 2012 With A-Rod still out, Levine again makes a possibly comic drug reference. Levine: Hey, what’s up with Robby. This guy must not be using the liquid. U didn’t tell me what did Chris and Steve say your ETA is. Don’t rush it unless u r right. We need you. Nova looks like he may need a breather. What do u see.
...I'm not sure whether to take those serious or not...can't tell if they are legit or not...who knows.
I understand your skepticism, but you have to think they are accurate because the New Yorker would not open themselves to the legal ramifications if they were not you would think.
...I looked and didn't see anything that would suggest it was some sort of ruse, but still. ...if they are legit text messages, you know Levine didn't leak them. But I just wonder if considering the ARod verdict is due shortly, if maybe ARod's people did this to put the Yanx in a bad light with hopes of swaying the arbiter's ruling?...the timing might suggest that.
That certainly crossed my mind. I will be glad when the ruling comes down and the Yankees and Arod can move forward. As you know, as for Arod, moving forward means good bye for me.
Answer - Pretty god damn stupid trying to act cool with a-rod and making a bigger ass of himself in the process. What we need now are some hank e-mails. LOL
Dislike this jackass immensely. Steinbrenner boys must get rid of this poison.......has no merit in the Yankee tradition. He is a detriment and serves no purpose to improving the team. He's a fat cat with a negative agenda.
Here is an organization that takes so much pride supposedly in image with clean cut, shaven rules for example, but have a corporate officer/president that emails like a 5th grader. The hypocrisy is disgusting to me. Look, I hope Arod gets the death penalty as far as I'm concern, bring back Jerry Kenney to play 3rd in order to be rid ourselves of this human distraction called Arod. But the FO of the Yankees are not innocent in all this either. Hopefully with Cashman's contract being up at the end of the year, Hal continues his hands on and replacing Cashman with a fresh approach.
...I've sparred several times with Cashman bashers over the premise of "accountability"... it's not his fault if he is simply not an elite GM...accountability starts with the players but trickles down to the coaches, then upper management, and then ultimately to the owners. ...so for those who live to play the blame game, if you want to point fingers, set your cross hairs on the Steinbrenners.
...yup, and this is the problem I have with the current Yankees system...if you're gonna hire a guy (Cashman) to be the General Manager, let him "manage"...but with the way things are, it's hard to tell at times who is really making key decisions...both the Steins and Cashman have their fair share of good and bad moves. But how would any of us feel if our boss was constantly looking over our shoulders and circumventing our decisions?...not exactly a vote of confidence. ...looking back, to me, in the past, the Yanx' system was best run by "BASEBALL people" instead of mere suits...(Gene Michael, Bob Watson, etc).
I have always agreed on that fact. And even then, there are only a very few that can put a GM, Director of Player Development, and all the other departments together that work in harmony to produce assets into the organizations on a yearly basis. With that said, name 2 teams that have been producing top minor league talent into the majors over the last 10 years and I'll bet they were at the bottom of the standings. I'll submit the Braves who are a contradiction to this, but whom else?
