I like this Quick kid: Jason Quick @jwquick 21h Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed covering this Oregon football team. What a class bunch of young men. They were fun, engaging & interesting Expand Reply Retweet Favorite
I like Quick as a reporter. There are elements of Canzo I can appreciate, as a columnist. Big difference. Poor Stomp. Such a big world.
Quick has done half a dozen 'human interest' stories on individual players this year. They have been insightful and positive. It's commendable to tweet out that the Duck boys are a respectful group of class kids.
yeah poor me for avoiding/not consuming crap. Poor poor me but by all means you should enjoy another steaming plate. As the saying goes, you are what you eat STOMP
Serve it up! I'm less concerned with Quick's perceived toolism and the juvenile belief of consuming crap if it comes from the Oregonian - there is always value in the pen, even if it goes against every personal belief I hold, as it is likely a sign of the First Amendment in action. I am more concerned with the actual pieces he writes and the way he treats the players while he's around them vs my personal perception of him. And, his tweet out was refreshing. My humble opinion, of course.
I'm sure that like Blazer players, the Oregon Duck players are told to avoid talking to either of these losers. So they do what they've always done... take singular nothing throw away quotes from players backing away from them and extrapolate this into fantastical stories for the gullible. It makes perfect sense that you toot the 1st amendment horn as I've said nothing about taking away their right to free speech. In the same way I believe that Fox News, The National Enquirer, Western Outdoor News & Petros Papadakis have a right to exist in our society, I fully support JC & JQ's right to continue to produce BS. But being that it's a somewhat free society I (the consumer) get to choose where I spend my time and who I support. I definitely don't want to support their nonsense via webhits, so I don't click their links. I'm hardly alone in this view and so going forward I won't be clicking any of the links you provide. I prefer the reporters who players actually talk to... the one's who aren't established pot stirring liars. But to each their own STOMP
Wow. Emotional much? I think you need a testosterone boost! You're "sure" Duck players are told to avoid talking to Quick, eh? Yup, sure seems like it: http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/09/oregon_football_ducks_receiver.html http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/12/what_keeps_the_ducks_up_in_san.html http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/12/post_27.html http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/11/for_oregon_coach_mark_helfrich.html http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/11/how_marcus_mariota_leads_the_o.html
I think Quick is a low grade reporter. The type that would land in a place like Portland. Canzano is an out and out liar. He makes up stuff and hides behind "some people say"... And the worst part about him is that he is immensely talented. every so often he writes a great piece. The rest of the time it's just lies and trying to be controversial (something he is very poor at). I hate seeing people waste his kind of talent.
Correct. I don't follow the Blazers like I used to in the last 70's, 80's and early 90's. Anymore, I couldn't care less. Wasn't Quick removed as a Blazer reporter and assigned to the Ducks?
I liked his Duck stuff this year. His Blazers stuff the last few years has seemed more about a personal axe to grind against the team/personal then anything. I think he just got burnt out on the Blazers and a few of the players. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
